Delhi Public School (DPS), Mysore, recently hosted a two day workshop on Capacity Building Program on Classroom Management organised by CBSE, Centre of Excellence, Bangalore for principals of CBSE Schools in and around Karnataka and Chennai. Reshma Ganesh, Principal, Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Bangalore-East, and Manilla Carvalho, Principal Delhi Public School Bangalore-East, were the resource persons. The major topics covered in the seminars were Content Management, Conduct Management, and Covenant Management, which make up Effective Classroom Management.

Delhi Public School (DPS), Mysore was established in 2000 and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is managed by Delhi Public School Society. “The school strives to appreciate and recognise each youngster for their uniqueness and inventiveness. The school is currently being led by principal Namrata Sharma.

Delhi Public School (DPS), Mysore, two NCC cadets recently participated in the All India Thal Sainik National Camp, Delhi. The two cadets—Company Sergeant Major (CSM), Purab Gowda A. and Sergeant Keerthna S. who belong to 13 Kar Battalion NCC Mysore were part of the training .Out of the 17 NCC Directorates that were present at the camp, CSM Purab Gowda A. won the bronze medal in the snap firing division. Karnataka and Goa Directorate placed third at the All India Thal Sainik Camp.

The effectiveness of the various types of Classroom Management, as part of Content Management was discussed on the first day of the workshop. This was followed by discussion on Conduct Management and Covenant Management the next day. Through participatory exercises, strategies for successful communication, forming connections, and handling conflict with parents were also reviewed.
