NSO Class 9 Section-Wise Syllabus

Any changes or reductions in the NSO syllabus will be reflected in the question papers. Students should prepare using the syllabus provided below.

Section 1: Logical Reasoning

• Verbal and non-verbal reasoning questions to test analytical and problem-solving skills.

Section 2: Science Topics

• Motion, Force & Laws of Motion

• Gravitation

• Work & Energy

• Sound

• Matter in Our Surroundings

• Is Matter Around Us Pure?

• Atoms & Molecules (including Structure of the Atom)

• Cell – The Fundamental Unit of Life

• Tissues

• Diversity in Living Organisms

• “Why Do We Fall Ill” (Healthcare/Biology)

• Natural Resources

• Improvement in Food Resources

Section 3: Achievers (Higher-Order Thinking)

• Challenging, multi-concept questions drawn from the same topics in Section 2, designed to test deeper understanding and analytical application.

Level-wise NSO Class 9 Syllabus

• In NSO 9th Level 1 exams, approximately 60% of questions are based on the current class (Class 9) syllabus, while 40% draw from the Class 8 syllabus.

• In SOF NSO Level 2 exams and the Achievers Section, all questions are based solely on the current class syllabus.
