The registration for CBSE Reading Challenge 2025-26 started on August 18, 2025. The last date to register is September 1, 2025. Students can register for the CBSE reading challenge 2025-26 online at cbse.gov.in and cbseacademic,nic,in. The CBSE Reading Challenge for the academic year 2025-26 will be held in two rounds. Round 1 is scheduled to be held from September 8 to September 11, 2025. While round 2 will be conducted on October 8, 9, 13 and 14, 2025 (round 2).
CBSE recently approved open book exams for Class 9 from the 2026-27 academic session. The decision has been taken in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE).

The CBSE reading challenge implementation will be held in two rounds. Schools must register on the CBSE Reading Challenge Online Portal on behalf of students. Check the detailed process here
School Registration: CBSE-affiliated schools register on the dedicated portal.
Student Participation: Schools select and register 10 students (two from each class 6-10) for English and Hindi categories.
Round 1 (School Level): Round I is conducted within the schools, where registered institutions download the question paper and answer key from the portal. Each school will then select two students from each class for both Hindi and English to advance to Round II.
Round 2 (Online): Round II will be held online, where the selected students will log into the portal on specified dates and times, download the examination paper, complete their responses, and submit them through the portal. Winners will be determined based on their speed and accuracy.
The CBSE reading challenge will be conducted in both Hindi and English. Students may participate in either one or both languages.
