The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts Senior Secondary examination (Class 12th) twice a year, in April and October. Like other educational boards, NIOS has also established NIOS Class 12 pass criteria and subject offerings. The NIOS Board is a recognised alternative to regular schooling; however, students must meet the same passing mark requirements as those in regular schools to qualify. Students must meet minimum pass mark criteria, which is 33% marks in each subject, to qualify for the NIOS Class 12 examination 2026.
