The CBSE improvement examination offers candidates the opportunity to re-appear in one or more subjects in the following year's board examination. Students who have successfully cleared the previous year's board examination are also eligible to apply for the CBSE improvement examination.
When registering for the improvement examination, the personal details of students who appeared in last year's board examination will be automatically generated. However, students who appeared two years ago will need to fill in their details while applying for the improvement examination.
It is important to note that students who did not pass the previous year's board examination are not eligible to apply for the improvement examination. They will either need to appear as private students the following year or they can opt to appear for the compartment examination.
If a student does not perform well in the improvement examination, their best performance in both exams will be taken into consideration.
Students can follow CBSE Syllabus 2024 to improve marks in their 10th and 12th board exams.
Some highlights of the new education policy on CBSE improvement exams.
In the compartment examination, which takes place right after the main examination, students in Classes 10 and 12 will have the chance to enhance their performance in just one subject.
Only the higher of the two marks obtained in that subject will be taken into account for the final results. Those students who manage to improve their performance will receive a consolidated mark sheet.
The announcement of the CBSE Improvement Exam results is scheduled for August 2024, following the completion of the test. Students who opt for the improvement test will be issued a new mark sheet.
CBSE administers improvement exams for students who have passed the 10th or 12th board examination with an unsatisfactory score. This offers an opportunity for those who have cleared their 10th and 12th exams and aspire to improve their marks for further education.
No, it is not possible to take the CBSE improvement exams after a gap of two years from the qualifying year.
If a candidate fails to pass the CBSE Class 12 Improvement Exam, their previous board exam marks will remain valid and will be taken into account for college admissions or job applications.
All candidates who have successfully passed the CBSE class 10th or 12th board examinations are eligible to participate in the CBSE improvement exam.
A candidate is allowed to participate in the improvement exam for each subject only once.
