The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Ministry of Education. Many schools all over India and some schools in foreign countries are affiliated with the CBSE board. CBSE has regional offices in Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Ajmer, Panchkula, Allahabad, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Thiruvananthapuram and Dehradun. Over the years, the Board has experienced rapid growth, extending its jurisdiction beyond national borders. The number of schools has increased from just 309 in 1962 to 29,340 schools within India and 257 schools in 25 foreign countries as of June 28, 2024. This total includes 1,247 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 5,280 Government/Aided Schools, 22,408 Independent Schools, 648 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and 14 Central Tibetan Schools.

CBSE Exam Dates 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the theory exam dates for the Class 10 and 12 exams. The CBSE Class 10th and Class 12 exams will be held from February 17 to April 9, 2026.
