NTSE Application Details

  1. Candidates need to apply for different state/UT as per their State Board of Education 
  2. Candidates can apply in online mode and fill in the application form and get it signed by the Principal of their school 
  3. candidates need to submit the application form the State/UT board officer after remitting the application fee

NTSE Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Stage I - 

  • Only Indian students are eligible to appear in this level
  • Candidates studying in Class X are eligible for appearing in the test
  • Candidates must have obtained 60% marks in their Class IX examination 
  • Candidates  must be studying in a recognised school in the respective State or Union Territory
  • SC, ST and PH category candidates are offered a relaxation of 5% marks in Class X and they must have obtained at least 55% marks in Class IX
  • Candidates registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) are also considered eligible for the scholarship examination if they are below the age of 18 years as in the year of examination and they should not be employed while appearing for Class X exam

Eligibility for Stage II - 

  • Candidates securing 80% marks or above in the State level NTSE are eligible for the Stage-II to be held by NCERT at National level
