About NTSE

NTSE or National Talent Search examination was launched in 1961 by the government of India for secondary students in Delhi, under the National Council for Educational Research and Training (formed in 1961). Back then, only 10 scholarships were issued by the state, which were accessible to class 11 students studying in Delhi. It was in the year 1964, first revision of NTSE examinations occurred, under which, the scope of the talent search was extended to all the states and union-territories in India, and the number of scholarships offered were increased to 350. Later on, after the introduction of 10+2+3 education system by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the talent-search was further revised, where the number of scholarships was increased to 500, and eventually, 1000.
