NTSE Odisha 2020 - SCERT, Odisha has released the official notification and application form of NTSE 2019-20 on scertodisha.nic.in. Odisha NTS Stage 1 Exam will be conducted on November 3, 2019 while the stage 2 exam will be conducted on May 10, 2020. Aspirants would be able to fill the NTSE application form from August 1, 2019. Students of Class 10th can apply for NTSE Odisha 2020 exam till August 25, 2019. There is no application fee for the NTSE exam. Odisha State Talent Search Exam conducts to offer NTSE scholarship on the basis of their marks in NTSE Stage II exam. Students who qualify the Odisha National Talent Search Examination will be called to appear in NTSE Stage II, to be conducted by NCERT, in June 2020. NTSE Odisha 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who are currently studying in class 10th during 2019-20 from any recognized schools of Odisha are eligible to participate in Odisha NTSE 2020.
  • They have qualified the Class 10th annual examination with a minimum of 60% marks for students belonging to General, OBC and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories (55% for SC/ST/PH).
  • Students of open distance learning (ODL) are also eligible for Odisha State Level National Talent Search Examination, provided their age is less than 18 years (as on 1st July 2020).
  • Students must be unemployed and are appearing in Class 10th for the first time.

State Quota for Odisha

A total of 259 scholarships are reserved for Odisha state that will be further awarded according to below reservation percentages-

  • SC- 15%
  • OBC- 27%
  • ST- 7.5%
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS)- 10%
  • Physically Challenged- 4%

The NTSE 2020 application form for Odisha Stage 1 Exam has been released online on August 1, 2019. Eligible students should fill the online application form and submit the hard copy of the filled application to their respective schools. How to apply for NTSE Odisha 2020 Stage 1?

  • Go to the official website of SCERT, Odisha, scertodisha.nic.in
  • Click on the ‘Online application’ dialogue box and fill the required details
  • Download and print a copy of your application form and submit the completely filled form at the principal’s office of your respective institution from where it will be submitted to the state liaison’s officer for Odisha NTSE.
  • SOL (School of Open Learning) applications should submit their application directly to the state liaison officer.
  • Applicants should save the application number to download the admit card of NTSE 2020.

  • Caste Certificate (OBC/SC/ST) issued by the concerned Tahsildar / Additional Tahsildar, if required
  • Disability Certificate (Physically Handicapped) to be issued by District Medical Board, if required

NTSE Odisha 2020 Exam Pattern

  • Odisha NTSE exam has two parts Mental Ability Test (MAT), Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
  • MAT and SAT both contain 100 questions each.
  • There is no negative marking in NTSE Odisha 2020.
  • Each question carries 1 mark each.
  • The test duration is 120 minutes or 2 hours.
  • The questions asked in MAT will be based analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures.
  • In SAT papers, questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Geography and Economics

NTSE Odisha 2020 Hall Ticket

Applicants will be able to download the admit card of NTSE Odisha 2020 from the official website of SCERT, Odisha from October 20, 2019. Students will need their application number and date of birth/ password to download the admit card. NTSE hall ticket or admit card is a mandatory document that every student must possess during the exam day. The admit card will contain the exam centre details and roll number.

How to Prepare for NTSE Odisha 2020 (Stage 1 )?

Students should follow the simple and easy NTSE Preparation tips to qualify the stage 1. Follow these tips to score high in the NTSE Odisha 2020 exam

  1. Know the Stage I pattern and syllabus of NTSE examination. The pattern of NTSE Stage 1 is different for different states. Hence, read the above section of pattern and syllabus to know what to prepare for NTSE Odisha exam. Also, refer the right NTSE 2020 Books to complete the syllabus.
  2. Make a smart study schedule. After getting the entire details, students should smartly divide their time so that they prepare each subject with equal devotion and concentration.

NTSE Odisha 2020 Answer key

The exam conducting authority will release the official answer key for Odisha NTSE 2020 on the official website of SCERT, Bhubaneswar. The answer keys will be released one month after the exam conduction. However, a few coaching institutes also release the NTSE answer keys straight after the exam. Students can evaluate their performance in the NTSE examination with the held of the answer keys.

NTSE Odisha 2020 Result

SCERT, Bhubaneswar will release the result of NTSE Stage 1 exam in the last week of January 2020. Candidates who will qualify the NTSE Odisha stage 1 will be called to appear in Stage 2 examination. The result list mentions the name of provisionally selected candidates for stage 2 exam. The NTSE 2020 result will be released in the form of merit list. NTSE Stage 2 Result will be announced by NCERT in September 2020.

NTSE Odisha 2020 Selection Process

  • Eligible students have to appear in Stage 1 of NTSE and pass the same with a minimum of 40% marks in each paper i.e. MAT & SAT separately to get shortlisted for Stage 2 Exam. The minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH is 32% marks.
  • Students have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in MAT & SAT (32% marks for SC/ST/PH) in NTSE Stage 2 Result to get shortlisted in final merit list.
  • Only stage 2 qualifiers will receive the final NTSE Scholarships.

NTSE has two parts that are SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and MAT (Mental Ability Test). The MAT section will test students on their thinking ability, Reasoning etc. while the SAT is further divided into three sub-sections namely Science, Maths and Social Science.

The total marks of NTSE have been increased from 150 to 200 along with the removal of the language test. The official cut off will be released along with the result. The cutoff is expected to be around 140.
