Students who are applying for exams must ensure that they meet the NTSE 2024 eligibility criteria. The NTSE Assam 2024 eligibility criteria is mentioned below.
Students studying in Class X in Govt./Local Body/Govt. Aided school /private school are eligible to appear in the NTSE stage I exam.
Aspirants must have scored 40% in the Class 9th exam. The scores must be at least 32% for SC/ST/PH candidates.
Candidates enrolled under open schooling are also eligible to apply for the NTSE Assam 2024 exam.
It must be noted that no candidate will be eligible for the NTSE exam who is employed in a job with salary, remuneration or stipend.
Students must hold Indian Nationality.
NMMS scholarship holders are also eligible
Students can download the NTSE registration 2024 form in PDF format from the official website, madhyamik.assam.gov.in or it can be collected from the respective School.
Students should follow the given steps to apply for NTSE Assam 2024.

Download and print a copy of the NTSE Assam application form, and admit card.
Enter the required credentials in both forms.
Two coloured passport-sized photos must be attached on both forms
Both the photographs should be attested by the School Principal/ Head of Institution.

Below are the documents which need to be submitted along with the Application form.
For SC, ST, and PH - Copy of caste, reservation, category, and disability certificates. Those who fail to do so must be categorized under the general category.
For OBC Candidates - Other Backward Class applicants are required to send a copy of their caste certificate attached with the application. But, their reservation will be applicable only if below-mentioned conditions are met.
Only ‘Non-creamy layer’ candidates will be able to avail the reservation. OBC candidates whose certificate mentions ‘Creamy Layer’ will not enjoy any reservation benefits.
One must locate and identify their caste/ community in the ‘Central List of OBCs’ by NCBC (National Council of Backward Classes.

Students should pay the application fee online on the official website, madhyamik.assam.gov.in or they can pay to the school authorities along with the NTSE Assam 2024 form to complete the application process.

Applicants can download the NTSE Assam stage 1 admit card from the official website. The stage 1 admit card will be released in November 2024. NTSE Assam admit card contains the details such as the candidate's name, information about the test centre, roll number, exam schedule, etc.
Students should have their roll number to download the admit card for stage 1 exam. NTSE 2024 Admit Card is a mandatory document as students will not be allowed inside the examination hall without it.
Students must go through the NTSE Exam Pattern in order to know the marking scheme and difficulty level. The exam will consist of a Mental Ability Test and Scholastic Ability Test.

Students must follow the below mentioned NTSE Preparation tips to pass the NTSE Stage 1 exam.
Prepare a study schedule and divide your time for each topic equally.
Go through the whole NTSE syllabus and try to plan the exam strategy accordingly.
Students must refer to the best books for NTSE and try to cover the syllabus as soon as possible.
Highlight the important points and make short notes out of them it as it will be helpful at the time of revision.
Solve previous year NTSE Question Papers to know the weightage of each topic and it will help you to get acquainted with the difficulty level and marking scheme of NTSE Assam.
Solve as many as NTSE sample papers. It will help to manage time and make one aware of the whole marking scheme and questions asked in the exam.
SCERT will release the official NTSE Assam answer key on the official website. The NTSE answer key for Assam will be released in December 2024. Students can calculate the expected scores with the help of the Assam NTSE answer key and know the chances of their selection in the NTSE stage II exam.
The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam will release the NTSE Assam result of stage 1 in February 2025. NTSE Assam 2024 result will be published online in the form of a merit list which will include the name of students who qualify in the first round.
NTSE result 2024 consists of the student's name, roll number, marks obtained in MAT, SAT and the total score. Students who qualify the stage 1 exam will be allowed to appear for the NTSE stage II exam.
The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam will release the NTSE Assam 2024 cut off along with the result in February 2025. NTSE Assam cut off releases for all categories including General, SC, ST, PH.
NTSE cutoff marks depend on several factors such as the highest marks obtained by a student, difficulty level of the question paper. Students who score equal to or more than their category will be allowed to appear for NTSE stage II exam 2024.
NCERT, the national conducting body of NTSE is responsible for awarding scholarships. The scholarship is given to students who pass the NTSE stage II 2024 exams. Around 2000 NTSE scholarships are awarded to eligible students all over India.
