Assam NTSE exam bears some eligibility criteria for the students to appear in the stage I exam. Students must go through the required criteria before applying for the NTSE Assam 2020. NTSE eligibility criteria are mentioned below.
Students studying in Class X in Govt./Local Body/Govt. Aided school /private school are eligible to appear in the NTSE stage I exam.
Applicants must have scored 40% in Class 9th exam in order to appear in the exam. The scores must be at least 32% for SC/ST/PH candidates.
Candidates enrolled under open schooling are also eligible to apply for NTSE Assam exam.
It must be noted that no candidate will be eligible for NTSE exam who is employed in a job with salary, remuneration or stipend.
Assam NTSE 2020 application process will begin in the third week of September 2019. Students must fill the application form until the second week of October 2019. NTSE application form will be released in the online mode on the official website of SCERT, Assam assamscert.co.in. Find below the steps to apply for NTSE Assam 2020 below.
Step 1: Students must visit the official website to fill the NTSE application form for Assam stage 1 exam.
Step 2: Documents required for the application process of NTSE Assam 2020 are as follows:
a) Candidate’s photograph’s scanned copy
b) Candidate’s signature’s scanned copy
c) scanned copy of candidate’s caste certificate(for reserved category candidate)
d) Scanned copy of candidate’s disability certificate (if any).
Step 3: Download and print the declaration by the Gazetted Officer and get it filled up by the head of the institution/ Gazetted Officer. Scan and keep it ready while online form submission.
Step 4: Fill the application form carefully and upload scanned photograph and signature (size of photograph and signature should not exceed 35kb and 30kb. The photograph and signature should be either in ‘.jpeg’, or ‘.jpg’ format.
Step 5: Applicants must remember the password given to them. It is essential for further login. Call the helpline no. for any related query: 09769199421 (Monday to Saturday: 10 AM to 6 PM).
Step 6: After submitting the online application form, candidates must take SBI bank E-challan printout which is in two parts. Log in with the given password and take a printout of the online submission form after successful payment.

Students will be able to download the admit card for NTSE Assam 2020 from the month of October 2019 on the official website of Board of Secondary Education, Assam. NTSE admit card bears the details such as the candidate's name, information about the test centre, roll number, exam schedule, etc. Candidates must remember that they will not be allowed to appear for the exam if they fail to bring their admit cards with them.

SCERT, Assam will release the NTSE Assam result in the second week of March 2020. The result will be published online in the form of a merit list which will include the name of students who qualify in the first round. NTSE Assam result consists of the details like candidate’s name, roll number, marks obtained in MAT, SAT and the total score. Students must note that only those candidates will be allowed to appear for NTSE stage II exam who qualify the stage I exam.
SCERT will release NTSE Assam cutoff after the declaration of the results.
