The CBSE Class 11 English subject is divided into two categories: English Core and English Elective. The CBSE Class 11 English Core syllabus is organised into three sections: Part A, Part B, and Part C. Section A focuses on Reading Comprehension, Section B covers Creative Writing and Grammar, while Section C includes content from Literature Textbooks and Supplementary Reading Materials. CBSE Class 11 English offers two courses: Core and Elective. The Core Course includes two textbooks—Hornbill, which features both prose and poetry, and Snapshots, a supplementary reader comprising a collection of short stories. Almost all CBSE Board schools use Hornbill and Snapshots published by the National Council of Education Research and Training, New Delhi.
