Yes, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will have two board exams for Class 10 in 2026. This decision has been taken after consideration of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP). The government aims to reduce student stress by organising two CBSE board exams per year. Students who have not scored satisfactory marks or wish to appear in the exam again will be able to appear for the CBSE Phase 2 class 10 board exams.

CBSE Class 11 English offers two courses: Core and Elective. The Core Course includes two textbooks—Hornbill, which features both prose and poetry, and Snapshots, a supplementary reader comprising a collection of short stories. Almost all CBSE Board schools use Hornbill and Snapshots published by the National Council of Education Research and Training, New Delhi.
