NTSE Maharashtra Exam Pattern


NTSE 2019 examination is a two level process. SCERT conducts the Stage 1 exam at state level and NCERT conducts the stage 2 exam at national level. Stage 1 examination is explained in detail below:

  • NTSE Stage 1 question paper comprises of two sections- MAT and SAT.

  • It could be attempted either in English language or Hindi language.

  • Every right answer is marked with 1 mark.

  • No negative marking is there for wrong answers.

  • 240 minutes is the total time alloted for stage 1 exam.

  • MAT (Mental Ability Test)- Questions are put up from analogies, classification, coding-decoding, pattern analysis, problem solving, series, hidden figures etc. This section aims to test a candidates ability to think, ability to view and analize, ability to evaluate and reasoning skills.

  • SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)- The objective of this section is to test the candidate’s general awareness, reading abilities and interpretation skills relating to different subjects.
