Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, Receives Education World Awards

Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, recently received Education World Awards at EW India School Rankings 2022-23. The school was presented the awards for being number 1 ‘Vintage Legacy Boys Boarding Himachal Pradesh’ and being the 3rd ‘Best School In India’. School teachers Vyas and Dharma accepted the awards on behalf of the school and the teaching faculty. The prizes were given by international cricketer Jatin Paranjpe in Delhi.

Bishop Cotton School (BCS) is a boys' school affiliated with the Indian School Certificate Examination Council (CISCE). The school was founded in 1859 by Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton. Bishop Cotton School (BSC) has a long history that goes back more than 150 years. It is one of the oldest boys' boarding schools in all of Asia and one of the first ‘public schools’ in India. The school is currently under the leadership of headmaster Matthew John. “Bishop Cotton School strives to achieve and maintain the highest level of excellence in its whole-educational curriculum, empowering men rooted in Indian heritage to live as devoted and devout as possible,” according to the school’s official website.

Bishop Cotton School, Shimla Achievements

The Under-14 football team of Bishop Cotton School recently competed in the Himachal State Football Tournament at Solan and won by defeating the opposing team 2-1. Bishop Cotton School was delighted with its students Kabir and Yash, who scored the winning goal. Additionally, Yash received a trophy for “Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament.” The students' efforts were applauded by the faculty and administration, who also congratulated them on their success and for bringing honour to the institution.
