Sainik School Admission 2019 – Sainik School Society will conduct All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) for Sainik School admissions to classes VI and IX in the month of January, 2019 for filling up seats in the 26 all-boys residential schools in India. These schools are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) and run by Sainik School Society under the Ministry of Defence. The test for class VI consists of Maths, GK, Language and Intelligence while that for class IX comprises Maths, Intelligence, English, General Science and Social Studies. Entrance tests for class VI and IX are held for 300 and 400 marks, respectively. Sainik Schools prepare boys for CBSE 10th and 12th examination as well as UPSC exam for NDA. This being the reason, only Science stream is offered to the students in their +2 stage. Note: The admission test of Sainik School, Nagrota is held separately. For the rest of the schools, the test is conducted in January.
The admission authority of Sainik Schools has laid down certain conditions for students applying for admission to class 6 and 9 in these schools. Students who are studying class V and VIII from a recognised school are eligible to apply for the admission. Requirements regarding age have been mentioned below:
- Age limit for class VI: 10-11 years of age as on 01 July 2019 (Born between 02 Jul 2008to 01 Jul 2009)
- Age limit for class IX: 13-14 years of age as on 01 July 2019 (Born between 02 Jul 2005 to 01 Jul 2006)
Sainik Schools Society has specified the following reservation criteria for students applying for admission:
- Of the total seats, 15% are reserved for SC candidates and 7.5 seats for ST category.
- After giving away seats to SC/ST candidates, out of the remaining seats, 67% seats are reserved for candidates of the home state and 33% are given away to candidates belonging to other states and union territories. Seats that are left unfilled in this category will be merged with seats of the home state.
- Of all seats, 25% are reserved for children of service personnel including ex-servicemen.
The admission form of Sainik school 2019 can be made available along with the prospectus in the third week of October, 2018. Forms can be filled online or collected from the respective schools in which a student is seeking admission. If they are submitting an offline form, only original forms will be accepted and downloaded or xerox copies of the same will be considered invalid.
