The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the tentative CBSE date sheet for classes 10th and 12th. In the year 2026, the board will conduct the CBSE 10th exam twice. The CBSE phase 1 exam will tentatively be held from February 17 to March 9, 2026, while the phase 2 exams will be held from May 15 to June 1, 2026. Can I Skip the CBSE First Exam 2026?

No, students cannot skip the CBSE first examination 2026. They must appear in the first exam. However, they can choose not to appear for the second examination if they want. From the academic year 2026, the CBSE board 10 exam 1/ exam 2 will act as an improvement/supplementary examination. If a candidate decides to appear in the phase 2 examination, then in the marksheet cum passing certificate, the better of the two marks will be mentioned.

CBSE LOC Submission 2026

Students appearing for the CBSE 10th exam must submit the LOC form. The LOC will be collected before both the first and second examinations. The CBSE LOC form 2026 will be collected from August 29 to September 30, 2025, without any late fee. The students will have to fill out the LOC for the second exam separately. However, no new names or subject changes will be allowed for the second examination.

CBSE First Exam 2026 Preparation Tips

CBSE First Exam Day Guideline 2026

Students appearing for the exam must follow exam day guidelines to avoid unnecessary circumstances. Below, we have provided general exam day guidelines for students’ reference.

  • Candidates must carry the CBSE admit card on each exam day. Without it, they will not be allowed to sit for the examination.
  • They must read the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
  • Use of calculators and mobile phones is strictly prohibited.
  • Students must carry their own stationery to the examination hall.
  • If a student is caught using unfair means in the examination, there is a high chance they will be disqualified
