The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) started the free psychological counselling services on February 1, 2025. The board will conduct the CBSE Psycho-Social counselling till April 4, 2025. CBSE has consistently offered psychological counselling before the examination and after the CBSE result announcements since 1998. The board offers 24/7 interactive voice response system (IVRS) service, tele-counseling services and podcasts/audio-visual content addressing stress management, student mental well-being, etc.

  • Bilingual Podcasts
    • Bilingual podcasts on relevant subjects can be accessed on the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in).

  • Tele-Counselling Service
    • A voluntary and free-of-cost tele-counselling service is available from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.
    • The service is provided by 65 trained counsellors, including principals, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools.
    • Among them, 52 counsellors are from India, and 13 are from various international locations such as Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah).
  • Diverse Engagement Platforms
    • CBSE actively engages with students through toll-free tele-counselling, IVRS, and social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
    • Over the years, important messages have been shared on these platforms to address various concerns.
    • Audio-visual content covering topics like youth experiences, aggression, depression, internet addiction disorder, examination stress, specific learning disabilities, substance use disorders, and life skills is available for students to view and listen to.
