The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) started the free psychological counselling services on February 1, 2025. The board will conduct the CBSE Psycho-Social counselling till April 4, 2025. CBSE has consistently offered psychological counselling before the examination and after the CBSE result announcements since 1998. The board offers 24/7 interactive voice response system (IVRS) service, tele-counseling services and podcasts/audio-visual content addressing stress management, student mental well-being, etc.
The primary aim is to ensure a stress-free environment for students in Classes 10 and 12 attending CBSE-affiliated schools during their examinations. CBSE stands out as the only board in the country providing widespread psychological counselling continuously for 26 years, employing innovative methods.

- IVRS Support (Interactive Voice Response System)
- A toll-free IVRS facility was made available 24x7 starting from January 1, 2025, through the number 1800-11-8004.
- Students and parents can access stress-free exam preparation information, tips on time and stress management, FAQs, and essential contact details of CBSE offices.
- The service provides information in both Hindi and English.
- Bilingual Podcasts
- Bilingual podcasts on relevant subjects can be accessed on the official CBSE website (cbse.gov.in).

- Tele-Counselling Service
- A voluntary and free-of-cost tele-counselling service is available from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.
- The service is provided by 65 trained counsellors, including principals, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools.
- Among them, 52 counsellors are from India, and 13 are from various international locations such as Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah).
- Diverse Engagement Platforms
- CBSE actively engages with students through toll-free tele-counselling, IVRS, and social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Over the years, important messages have been shared on these platforms to address various concerns.
- Audio-visual content covering topics like youth experiences, aggression, depression, internet addiction disorder, examination stress, specific learning disabilities, substance use disorders, and life skills is available for students to view and listen to.

No, it’s not true that GSEB (Gujarat Board) students get first preference in college admissions.
Your daughter can continue with CBSE, as all recognized boards CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards (like GSEB) which are equally accepted for college admissions across India.
However, state quota seats in Gujarat colleges (like medical or engineering) may give slight preference to GSEB students for state-level counselling, not for all courses.
So, keep her in CBSE unless she plans to apply only under Gujarat state quota. For national-level exams like JEE or NEET, CBSE is equally valid and widely preferred.

Since you have passed 10th and 12th from Delhi and your residency is Delhi, but your domicile is UP, here’s how NEET counselling works:
1. Counselling Eligibility: For UP NEET counselling, your UP domicile makes you eligible, regardless of where your schooling was. You can participate in UP state counselling according to your NEET rank.
2. Delhi Counselling: For Delhi state quota, usually 10th/12th + residency matters. Since your school and residency are in Delhi, you might also be eligible for Delhi state quota, but it depends on specific state rules.
So, having a Delhi Aadhaar will not automatically reject you in UP counselling as long as you have a UP domicile certificate.
