The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced its first phase of Psycho-Social Counselling Services for board exam students from January 6, 2026. The initiative is designed to support the mental and emotional well-being of students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations, which are scheduled to start from February 17, 2026. The counselling services will remain active till June 1, 2026.
As part of the programme, CBSE has introduced a 24×7 toll-free IVRS helpline and weekday tele-counselling services, supported by a team of trained principals, counsellors, special educators, and psychologists from India and overseas. Also, students can access curated digital resources on stress management and effective study techniques through the official CBSE website. The board has urged students and parents to make full use of these services during the examination period.

Students can access CBSE’s 24×7 toll-free IVRS helpline by dialling 1800-11-8004 for stress management guidance and exam-related support.
The IVRS service is available in Hindi and English and provides instant responses to frequently asked questions.
For personalised assistance, students and parents can opt for tele-counselling services, available from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Tele-counselling sessions are conducted by trained professionals, including counsellors, psychologists, principals, and special educators associated with CBSE.
Students and parents can interact with a panel of 73 trained professionals, comprising Principals, Counsellors, Special Educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and qualified Psychologists. Of these, 61 counsellors are based in India, while 12 counsellors are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates
