CBSE Class 12th  Exam Date : 01 Jan' 2025 - 14 Feb' 2025

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE date sheet earlier as compared to previous years, giving students ample time to plan their studies effectively. There have been minor shifts in CBSE exam dates, especially for specific subjects. This can be due to various reasons like administrative changes or unforeseen circumstances.

  4. Sufficient Break for JEE and NEET Exam 2025

This year, the board released the CBSE date sheet 86 days in advance of the examinations. This is a substantial improvement over the previous year when the timetable was released 23 days earlier.

According to the schedule, the CBSE Class 10 exam will commence on February 15th, 2025, and conclude on March 18th, 2025. Similarly, the CBSE Class 12 exam will begin on February 15th, 2025, and end on April 4th, 2025.

Exam Date Revision Expectations in 2025

The CBSE has not officially announced any major changes to the exam dates for 2025. The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams will commence on February 15th, 2025, as they have the previous year. While last year the board revised the CBSE date sheet for minor subjects in January 2024, the likelihood of substantial changes to the 2025 schedule is considered low. Even if modifications occur, the exam dates for major subjects are highly likely to remain unchanged.

CBSE Exam Date from February 15

The Central Board of Secondary Education releases the CBSE date sheet for Class 10 and 12 board exams approximately 2-3 months before their commencement, providing students with sufficient time for focused preparation. The CBSE theory exams for both classes are scheduled between February and April, spanning approximately 1.5 months. This timeframe allows students to revise and prepare for each subject adequately and effectively. Notably, in the past three years, the Class 10 and 12 board exams have consistently commenced around February 15th of each year.

Previous Year CBSE Exam Date

The CBSE date sheet for the 2025 board exams was released on November 20, 2024. In 2024, the date sheet was released on December 12th. For the 2023 exams, the date sheet was made public on December 30th of the preceding year.

As per the table above, the board has been releasing the CBSE date sheet earlier each year. For 2025, the date sheet was released on December 12th, 2024, providing students with ample time to prepare for the exams, which were scheduled from February 15th to April 4th, 2025.

Sufficient Break for JEE and NEET Exam 2025

The CBSE meticulously prepared the exam schedule, ensuring sufficient breaks between subjects commonly taken by students in both Class 10 and 12. Additionally, while designing the CBSE Class 12 date sheet, the board considered the scheduling of competitive exams like JEE Main.

To minimize scheduling conflicts, the board carefully avoided over 40,000 potential subject combinations. This proactive approach ensures that no student has two exams scheduled on the same day.
