The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) has introduced significant reforms to the AP first-year syllabus and AP 2nd-year syllabus, starting from the 2025-26 academic year. A key change is the adoption of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus for the first year of intermediate education.
This shift aims to harmonize the state's educational framework with national standards by adopting the NCERT syllabus. This alignment will also better equip students for national-level competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE.
The current AP intermediate syllabus for the two-year Intermediate courses has remained largely unchanged for several years, with the last updates for Sciences occurring in 2012-13 for the first year and 2013-14 for the second year. For Arts subjects, the last updates were implemented in 2014-15 for the first year and 2015-16 for the second year. Similarly, Languages were last updated in 2018-19 for the first year and 2019-20 for the second year.
Subject Committees, each comprising University Professors, Degree College Lecturers, and Junior Lecturers, were constituted on October 1, 2024, for each of the 14 subjects. Based on the recommendations of these committees, the following changes are proposed
Subject Group | 1st Year (AY 2025-26) | 2nd Year (AY 2025-26) |
Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) | Revised textbooks as per NCERT by academic year 2025- 26 | Reduced syllabus as per NCERT; Full NCERT-based revision by AY 2026-27 |
Arts & Humanities (Civics, Economics, History, Commerce) | Revised textbooks as per BIE syllabus by academic year 2025- 26 | No changes; Revised textbooks by AY 2026-27 |
Languages (English, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu) | New textbooks by academic year 2025- 26 | No changes; Revised textbooks by AY 2026-27 |
Given the recent introduction of NCERT textbooks in Class 10 from the 2024-25 academic year, there is an urgent need to introduce NCERT textbooks for the first year of AP Intermediate education from the 2025-26 academic year to ensure a seamless transition for students. This move is also crucial to align the AP Intermediate curriculum with the syllabus followed in major competitive examinations like JEE and NEET. Moreover, over 15 states have already adopted NCERT textbooks for their Intermediate curriculum. Check below the proposed AP inter 1st year syllabus subject wise

Result of ap intermediate was expected to be declare on 22nd June 2022 at 12;30
Dear aspirant,
It is hard to predict if you'll get CSE or not as it heavily depends on the students applying and what their preferences are. Looking at the previous year trends we can say that you'll need 975+ to get CSE but you have a really good percentile in JEE which accounts for 25 percent, so all I can say is that you have a really good chance of getting into SASTRA but CSE might be slightly difficult. If you are truly passionate about CSE, it is better to keep other options open.
