    Tripura Board Passing Marks 2026 – TBSE Class 10 & 12 Minimum Qualifying Marks

    The Tripura Board of Secondary Education determines the passing marks for Class 10 and Class 12 students. The students must score at least 33 marks out of 100 marks in each subject to qualify for the examination. For subjects that include both theory and practicals, students must pass each part separately. In addition, they must secure the minimum required overall aggregate by combining the marks of all subjects. According to the Tripura Board passing marks, a candidate must secure a minimum of 165 marks out of 500 overall (33%). Additionally, they must obtain the prescribed passing marks in each of the five subjects.

    The board examination conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) does not have negative marking. Theory exams carry 80 and 70 marks based on the streams. Some subjects incorporate practical assessments, with varying weightage. For example, some subjects might have a 20-mark practical subject and an 80-mark theory component, while others may have a 30-mark practical and a 70-mark theory split. Subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Geography, and Psychology commonly follow a 70-mark theory and a 30-mark practical subject.

    Students must achieve a minimum of 33% in each subject and 33% overall to pass the TBSE Class 12th exams.     Schools affiliated with the Tripura Board conduct internal assessments worth 20 marks. This assessment is based on the following criteria:

    Madhyamik Exam Passing Criteria & "Bachhar Bachao" Details

    Candidates appearing for the Tripura Madhyamik exam are eligible for the "Bachhar Bachao" (Save a Year) Examination if they achieve an aggregate score of at least 150 out of 500 but fail no more than two subjects. This exam is held within 60 days of the publication of the review results. Candidates who meet the criteria can apply for the "Bachhar Bachao" Examination after the review of TBSE results is published.

    Students who miss one subject and fail no more than one other subject, but achieve a total of 150 out of 500, will also be considered for the "Bachhar Bachao" exam in the same year.

    Candidates who fail one or two subjects in the "Bachhar Bachao" examination can retake those subjects only in the following year's TBSE madhyamik exam as compartmental candidates.

    To apply for the "Bachhar Bachao" Examination, candidates must submit the prescribed form through their original school, along with the required fees, within the timeframe set by the Board after the TBSE 10th result publication. Those who fail the "Bachhar Bachao" Examination must appear in the following year's Madhyamik exam as compartmental candidates.

    Tripura Board Grading System 2026

    The Board has established a grading system, using eight-point grades from A1 (highest) to E (lowest). A1 signifies a first division, while E indicates a failing grade. The following table details the TBSE grading system, corresponding percentages, and remarks.
