What are the Passing Marks for CBSE 12th Science Exams?

To successfully pass the CBSE board exams, students must meet the following criteria:

  • They must secure a grade higher than ‘E’ (i.e., at least 33% marks) in all five subjects of the external examinations, whether taken during the main or compartment exams.

  • For subjects that include practical components, students are required to score a minimum of 33% in both the theory and practical sections individually, as well as in the overall aggregate.

  • Also, students must obtain a grade above ‘E’ in all subjects under internal assessment. If these conditions are met—and unless a student is exempted from internal assessment—the CBSE will issue a pass certificate.

What Happens After the CBSE Class 12th Result 2025?

CBSE 12th Science Result 2025: Revaluation and Rechecking Process

CBSE 12th Science Result 2025: Compartment Exams

Students who fail in a maximum of two subjects in the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2025 are eligible to appear for the compartment exams in those subjects. To be eligible, students must have obtained a minimum of 33% marks in the subjects they have passed in the main examination. Students who fail in more than two subjects will have to reappear for all subjects in the subsequent academic year. CBSE will conduct compartment exams for students who:

  • Did not pass one or more subjects

  • Wish to improve their scores
