CGPA Full Form - Full form of CGPA is Cumulative Grade Point Average. It is an important educational grading system used by schools and colleges to evaluate overall academic performance of students. Based on their performance, students are allotted with grades such as: A, B , C, D, E or F.

• Example - If your Grade Points for 5 main subjects are:

• Add these Grade points - 9+8+8+7+8 = 40 marks.

• Divide the total Grade Points obtained by the total number of subjects, i.e. 5

So, 40 divided by 5 = 8

• So, the CGPA is 8

How to Calculate Percentage from CGPA

Proceeding with the above given example, if one wants to calculate their percentage from the CGPA score, then it can be done using the formula given below:

• To calculate the percentage, simply multiply the CGPA score by 9.5

• The CGPA obtained in the example given above was 8

• So, the final percentage will be - 8 x 9.5 = 76 %

• Students may feel less motivated to work harder. Example - A person scoring 99 marks will be put up in the same bracket with the student scoring 90 marks. This can demotivate them from striving harder.
