Over the past three years, the Maharashtra State Board has focused heavily on various Chemistry Topics, like Coordination Compounds and reaction mechanisms. Several core topics, like Name Reaction, Rate of Reaction, Electrical configuration of Lanthanoids & Actinoids, IUPAC- Nomenclature of Mononuclear Coordination Compounds, Structure and Stereoisomerism of Coordination Compounds, and Methods of Preparation of Organic Compounds, each received three questions. Other important concepts like the Carbohydrates, Proteins and Green Chemistry. This pattern highlights the board's effort to cover a wide range of topics, emphasising foundational concepts essential for higher studies like JEE and NEET, etc.

Apart from these, there are several other important concepts in which one question has been asked, which are:

    • Raoult’s Law

    • Van’t Hoff Factor

    • EMF of the cell

    • Fuel cell

    • Rate Law of Reaction

    • Half-life (for zeroth and first-order reactions)

    • Magnetic Moment

    • Oxidation state of d and f block elements

    • VBT & CFT

    • Nature of the C-X bond

    • Acidic nature

    • Buffer solution

    • SN1 & SN2 reaction

    • Classification of Carbohydrates, Proteins and Vitamins

Maharashtra Class 12 Chemistry Preparation Strategies

Till now, we have discussed the introduction, syllabus overview, important concepts and previous year data. Now we will move towards strategy and exam-related tips.

    a) Master the Basics: Thoroughly understand fundamental standards, as these are the building blocks for superior subjects. Regularly review definitions, formulas, and standards.

    b) Effective Study Materials: Utilise the prescribed Maharashtra State Board textbooks for focused instruction. Supplement with NCERT books and renowned reference books like "Modern ABC " with the aid of Dr S.P. Jauhar.

    c) Maintain a Healthy Routine: Regular exercising, balanced nutrition, and adequate sleep are important, especially in the course of examination guidance. Avoid cramming all night, earlier than the examination, to keep your mind fresh.

    d) Create a Structured Study Plan: Divide the syllabus into attainable sections and allocate particular times for each, making sure all subjects are covered well earlier than the examination date. Include normal breaks and revision intervals in your timetable.

    e) Solve Previous Years' Papers: Practice with beyond-board examination papers and mock tests to make yourself familiar with the exam layout and query sorts. This exercise facilitates time control and identifies regions that need more attention.

    f) Regular Revision: Regularly revisit subjects. This allows for lengthy-time period retention and reduces pre-exam pressure. Create summary notes for short revisions before the examination.
