CBSE Class 10 Minimum Age Limit 2026

Students appearing for the CBSE 10th Class exam must satisfy the age limit requirements prescribed by the respective state/UT government before applying for the CBSE admission for Class 10. The candidates' age limit will apply to the place where the school is located. It is important for students to follow the CBSE admission guidelines to appear for the CBSE board exam.

For some states like Delhi and Maharashtra, students can appear for the CBSE Class 10 examination 2026 at the age of 14 years or older.

The CBSE board has not prescribed any upper or maximum age limit for students to appear for the CBSE Class 10 examination 2026. Candidates need to satisfy the requirements of age limits as determined by the state/UT government, which will apply to the place where the school is located. However, students seeking to apply for the Class 10 exam are also required to fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the board.

CBSE Class 10 Eligibility Criteria 2026

• He/she must have passed the Class 9 examination from a school recognised or affiliated by the CBSE board or any other recognised board.

• He/she must be studying in class 10 in a school affiliated with CBSE.

• There is no age limit to appear for the CBSE 10th exam 2026. But at the time of admission, a student will have to fulfil the maximum and minimum age limits as determined by the government of the state/UT of the place where the school is located.

• He/she must have obtained 75 per cent attendance in class 10 during the respective academic year.

• The student must have submitted the examination form with the requisite fee before the deadline.

• Only those applications that are accepted by the board will be allowed to sit for the CBSE Class 10 exams.
