Each paper for NTSE 2019, i.e. MAT and SAT to be held for 120 minutes. Thus, while practising, students are advised to attempt the papers within the set time duration. This helps them master their time management skills during the exam.
Make a note of questions that are repeated over the years. Since there is no specified syllabus, this practice will help candidates identify the relevant topics and their weightage.

The exam pattern of NTSE Jammu & Kashmir comprises elements such as sections covered, marking scheme, time duration and so on. Details about NTSE Jammu & Kashmir exam pattern (Stage 1) have been provided below:
Part 1 – Mental Ability Test (MAT) - This section will comprise questions based on analytical and logical reasoning. This paper aims at testing a candidate’s ability to think, reason, discriminate, evaluate and visualize. In this section of NTSE Jammu & Kashmir question paper test takers will have to answer 100 questions within a duration of 2 hours. There will be questions from series, coding-decoding, classifications, pattern perception, problem-solving, analogies, hidden figures etc.
Part 2 – Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): The SAT section of NTSE Jammu & Kashmir Question paper consist of 100 questions from Mathematics (20), Science (40) and Social Science (40). This section analyses a candidate’s general awareness of the subjects, reading abilities, interpretation and evaluation. The time allotted for SAT is 120 minutes.
NCERT has not specified any syllabus for NTSE 2019. Those appearing for the exam will have to appear for two papers namely MAT and SAT. The subjects included in NTSE syllabus 2019 for MAT will be from the class IX and X syllabus. NTSE 2019 syllabus regarding these two sections have been given below:
