CISCE Full Form - The full form of CISCE is “Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations”. CISCE is a private, non-governmental board of education in India. In 1952, under the leadership of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the Minister of Education, an All India Certificate Examinations Conference was organised. The conference's primary goal was to discuss the possibility of replacing the international Cambridge School Certificate Examination with an All-India Examination. Hence, the CISCE council was established.

It is mainly responsible for holding two examinations; the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination for Class 12th and the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination for Class 10th. CISCE Divisions

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is mainly divided into three divisions, which are as follows:

  • Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination - ICSE (Class 10th)

  • Indian School Certificate Examination - ISC (Class 12th)

  • Certificate of Vocational Education Examination (CVE) (Year 12)

Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination - ICSE (Class 10th)

Indian students who have just finished Class 10th take the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination, a K–10 public board exam (equivalent to the first two years of the 4-year high school programme). For ICSE examinations, candidates must enroll in minimum six subjects, of which three are compulsory.

Indian School Certificate Examination - ISC (Class 12th)

For students finishing Class 12th, the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Examination is a K–12 public board exam (equivalent to the end of the 4-year high school programme). All candidates for the Examination must enter for English (compulsory), with three, four or five elective subjects. . A candidate may not enter for more than six subjects including the compulsory subject English.

Certificate of Vocational Education Examination (CVE) (Year 12)

Candidates may take this test after completing a two-year programme of studies in English that goes beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year 10) examination or its equivalent.

The goal of the CVE programme is to train students for particular professions. Private applicants are not allowed to show up for these exams.
