To be eligible for admission to the BBOSE Class 10th, and 12th course, the student should meet the following criteria:
The student must have completed their education under the Bihar Board or any other accredited board.
For Class 10, the student is required to provide valid age documentation confirming that they are over the age of 14.
For enrollment in the 12th grade, the student should be at least 15 years old, supported by appropriate age verification.
Furthermore, the student must present a school-leaving certificate or an original transfer certificate from their previous educational institution.

Students must choose a minimum of 5 subjects to pass Class X.
Mandatory: At least one or a maximum of two languages from Group A.
Optional: Three or four subjects from Group B.
Additional: Students can select up to two extra subjects from either Group A or Group B, for a maximum of seven subjects.
Group A: Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Bangla, Arabic, Persian.
Group B: Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, Physical Education, Home Science, Basic Computers, Arts, Indian Culture.
Similar to Class X, students need a minimum of 5 subjects for Class XII.
Mandatory: At least one or a maximum of two languages from Group A.
Optional: Three or four subjects from Group B.
Additional: Students can select extra subjects, including a third language from Group A, but this will not count as one of the main five subjects. A maximum of seven subjects is allowed.
Group A: Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Bangla, Arabic, Persian.
Group B: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Mathematics, Home Science, Economics, Business Studies, Political Science, Accountancy, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Arts, Music, Physical Education, Philosophy.
