BBOSE stands for Bihar Board of Open Schooling and Examination. It's an autonomous organisation under the Education Department of the Government of Bihar. BBOSE provides open and distance learning opportunities for students in Bihar. It offers various courses and exams equivalent to regular schools. The BBOSE examination will be held twice a year, in June and December 2025.

The BBOSE admission dates for the June 2025 session are from November 22, 2024 to March 31, 2025, while for the December 2025 session will be in August 2025. These dates were applicable during the period when BBOSE was responsible for conducting the examinations. Currently, BSEB has taken over the examination process, and it has been noted that the exams have been conducted later than usual since last year. Consequently, the admission dates are currently unavailable.

Who is eligible for BBOSE Admission 2025?

To be eligible for admission to the BBOSE Class 10th, and 12th course, the student should meet the following criteria:

  • The student must have completed their education under the Bihar Board or any other accredited board.

  • For Class 10, the student is required to provide valid age documentation confirming that they are over the age of 14.

  • For enrollment in the 12th grade, the student should be at least 15 years old, supported by appropriate age verification.

  • Furthermore, the student must present a school leaving certificate or an original transfer certificate from their previous educational institution.

BBOSE Offline Application

BBOSE Class X and XII Subject Requirements

Subjects students have to select during the BBOSE admission are given below. Check the selection process of subjects before filling the admission process:

BBOSE Class X

Students must choose a minimum of 5 subjects to pass Class X.

  • Mandatory: At least one or a maximum of two languages from Group A.

  • Optional: Three or four subjects from Group B.

  • Additional: Students can select up to two extra subjects from either Group A or Group B, for a maximum of seven subjects.

Group A: Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Bangla, Arabic, Persian.

Group B: Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, Physical Education, Home Science, Basic Computers, Arts, Indian Culture.

BBOSE Class XII

Similar to Class X, students need a minimum of 5 subjects for Class XII.

  • Mandatory: At least one or a maximum of two languages from Group A.

  • Optional: Three or four subjects from Group B.

  • Additional: Students can select extra subjects, including a third language from Group A, but this will not count as one of the main five subjects. A maximum of seven subjects is allowed.

Group A: Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Bangla, Arabic, Persian.

Group B: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Mathematics, Home Science, Economics, Business Studies, Political Science, Accountancy, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Arts, Music, Physical Education, Philosophy.
