October 15 is celebrated as World Students' Day every year, in the honour of the birth anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam. APJ Abdul Kalam was elected the 11th president of India on July 18, 2023. During his 5-year tenure as president, Kalam came to be known as 'People's President'. Kalam's affection towards students and passion towards education was well- known. October 15 has therefore been designated as World Students' Day, to commemorate his birth anniversary.

World Students’ Day- KR Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri

KR Mangalam World School, students of Classes 1-5 celebrated World Students' Day 2020 with excitement and passion and excitement to honour and recognise the teachings and accomplishments of the Kalam. The kids discussed the significance of commemorating this historic date. Students loved watching a brief film on the "Missile Man of India", his inventions, and his contributions to our nation. Students of Class 1 also discussed what they thought of the "Ideal Student." The struggles APJ Abdul Kalam’s had as a kid served as inspiration for them.
