KVPY Exam Pattern 2020 - The exam pattern of KVPY will be released by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore on the official website kvpy.iisc.ernet.in. Students preparing for the exam must refer to the KVPY exam pattern 2020 to prepare well. The exam pattern includes the marks distribution, the number of questions in each section, etc. The subjects included in the KVPY 2020 exam pattern are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The question paper of both SA and SB/SX streams will be of 100 marks. The exam duration of KVPY aptitude test will be 3 hours. The KVPY exam 2020 will be conducted in November. The exam will be computer-based where questions will be in MCQ format. All questions in the SA stream will be compulsory, whereas the option between Maths and Biology section will be provided in SB/SX stream. SA stream exam will be held in the morning shift i.e. from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. SX/SB stream exam will be held from 2 to 5 pm.
The exam duration will be 3 hours.
As per the KVPY exam pattern 2020, the total number of questions in the SA stream will be 80, wherein 60 questions will be in part I and 20 questions in Part II.
For part I, each correct answer will carry 1 mark and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
All questions will be compulsory in nature.
Total marks for the SA stream are 100.

The exam duration for the KVPY exam for SB/SX streams will be 3 hours.
The question paper will be of 160 marks.
KVPY exam for SB/SX Stream will be conducted from 2 to 5 pm.
There will be two parts in the question paper, part I and part II.
Students of class 12 have to attempt either maths or biology section.
As per the KVPY exam pattern 2020, Part I will carry 80 questions and part II will carry 40 questions. Students need to attempt only 80 questions.
Student has to attempt any 3 sections from part 1 (20x3 = 60 marks) and any 2 sections from part 2=(20*2=40), so 100
In part I, each question will carry 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong response. In part II, each question will carry 2 marks and a negative marking of 0.5 marks is there for every wrong attempt.

The KVPY exam is conducted online. A computer-based test is being conducted by IISC, Bangalore. Through online mock tests, students can familiarise themselves with the online test pattern. The mock tests are based on the latest KVPY exam pattern. The mock test will be available in both Hindi and English language. Students who have never attempted any online test should attempt them as much as they can.
The admit card for the KVPY exam will be released in October 2020, tentatively. KVPY Admit card will be available online at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in. The admit card can be accessed by entering the User ID & password. Students basic details, exam centre details, roll number, etc will be mentioned in the admit card. It is compulsory for students to carry the admit card with themselves during examination.

In the official website of KVPY you can check out the the releasing date of application form of KVPY 2021. You just have to fill up the form and register yourself and then you can give the examination on the date. Yes it is also valid for class 12.
