NMMS Exam 2018 - Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) conducts NMMS scholarship exam every year through state governments of the respective states. National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship or NMMS exam 2018 will be held on November 4, 2018 in the offline mode in some states while others will conduct it on other dates of November/December, 2018. All States/UTs have closed the NMMS application process 2018 and released the NMMS 2018 admit card. Students who are studying in class VIII from any recognised school and with parental income not more than Rs. 1,50,000 could apply for NMMS 2018. The exam is held for total 180 marks for the following two sets- Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
The main objective of NMMS is to award scholarships to 100,000 students who belong to economically weaker sections and encourage them to continue their education at the secondary stage. Selected students of NMMS exam 2018 will be awarded the scholarship of Rs. 500 per month from class IX till class XII. NMMS 2018 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Students preparing for NMMS can go through the exam pattern of NMMS 2018 to know about the marking scheme, number of questions and so on. The test comprises two sections, Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Details regarding NMMS exam pattern 2018 are given below:
MAT – This section comprises 90 multiple choice questions to test a candidate’s reasoning and critical thinking skills. The questions will be based on analogy, pattern perception, classification, hidden figures etc.
SAT – This paper consists of 90 multiple choice questions covering topics from Science, Social Science and Mathematics.
There is no such prescribed syllabus for NMMS 2018. However, the paper will cover questions from the syllabus of class VII and VIII.
One can practice NMMS question papers of previous years to get a better idea about the exam. This will acquaint students with the exam pattern and the type of questions asked in the exam. NMMS question papers will be made available along with their answer keys. The question paper of NMMS will familiarise candidates with the exam pattern and difficulty level of the exam among others. They will also help them analyse their preparation level, identify their weak areas and work on them.
NMMS 2018 Answer Key
The examination conducting bodies of each state will release official answer key of NMMS 2018 in the third week of November, 2018. with the help of NMMS answer key 2018, students will be able to calculate their probable scores in the exam and analyse their performance even before the result is released. Students have to compare their answers with those given in the answer key to calculate their expected scores.
SCERT of all States and UT will release NMMS result in January/February, 2019. NMMS Result 2018 will be made available online and to check it, they have to enter their roll number and school code in the login window. Some of the participating states release NMMS 2018 result in the form of merit lists which includes the names of selected candidates. The result includes information like candidate’s name, roll number, section-wise score etc. One can follow the steps below to view and download NMMS result:

Scholarship holders must be promoted in single attempts through the years to Class 12 with 55% of marks (50% for reserved category) and 60% in class 10 (55% for reserved) for continuation of scholarship. The selected candidates will have to open a joint account with parents in State Bank of
India and the amount will be deposited by the bank in their account on a quarterly basis. NMMS 2018 will provide scholarships to candidates under the following four categories:
Pre - Matric Scholarship Scheme - For students studying from Class 1st to Class 10th.
Post - Matric Scholarship Scheme - For students studying in Class 11, 12 and above including courses like B. Tech, Medical, ITI, B.SC, B. Com. etc.
Top Class Scholarship Scheme - For students studying in top level colleges across India such as IITs and IIMs.
Merit cum Means (MCM) Scholarship Scheme - This scheme is for students pursuing technical and professional courses at graduation and post-graduation level.
