
KVPY 2018 - IISc Bangalore has released the KVPY 2019 result on December 20, 2019 in the online mode. The result of KVPY 2019 has been declared in the form of merit list with the name and roll numbers of those who qualify for the round of interview. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVPY is a national level fellowship programme which is held across 99 exam cities, under three streams - SA, SX and SB, for students enrolled in classes 11, 12 and UG first year, respectively. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore conducted KVPY, online on November 4, 2018. The answer key of KVPY 2018 has been released on November 9, 2018, along with the question papers. Only candidates who will qualify the KVPY exam will be eligible for round of interview to be conducted in January 2019.
The selection procedure of KVPY 2018 comprises an aptitude test, followed by a personal interview for those who clear the test. The result of the written test has been published by IISc on December 20, 2018. The result is available in PDF format separately for SA stream and SB/SX. Students can download KVPY result using the steps given below:

KVPY Cutoff 2018
IISc sets the cutoff marks of KVPY for the final selection. The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks set for the aptitude test and personal interview of each stream. Candidates who have qualified as per KVPY 2018 cutoff marks have been shortlisted for fellowship programme. The cutoff of KVPY 2018 is different for each stream below.

Candidates must bring the following documents at the time of the interview
1. Application form and Interview call letter
2. Admit card of Aptitude test.
3.Original Marks card. (10th Marks card for Stream SA/SX and 12th for Stream SB)
4. Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates issued by the Competent Authority.
5. Medical certificate from competent authority in case of physically and visually challenged students
6. A Self-Appraisal form.
7. Study certificate form. It should be obtained from your Principal/Head of the Institution where you are currently pursuing your studies.
8. Teacher Recommendation Form (in Sealed envelope).
KVPY 2018 Answer Key
The answer key of KVPY 2018 has been released on November 9, 2018, along with the question papers for SA, SB/SX streams. The official answer key is released for candidates so that they can verify their answers in the examination. The KVPY 2018 answer key is available online in PDF format only and candidates can download it from the link provided above. The official answer key will be available after November 15, 2018, for each stream- SA and SB/SX papers in pdf format. Candidates can use the answer key to calculate their probable scores in the exam.
KVPY 2018 Admit Card
The admit card was released by the Indian Institute of Science, (IISc) Bangalore on October 12, 2018. Candidates who appeared for the exam were able to download KVPY 2018 admit card by logging in and entering the requisite credentials. Students can also read the exam day guidelines given in KVPY hall ticket immediately after downloading it to avoid hassles on the day of the exam. Students should clear all their basic concepts first and then proceed further to problem-solving.
If you are also preparing for competitive exams, such as IIT JEE and NEET, the KVPY syllabus is almost the same. You will be able to solve most of the KVPY questions.
Candidates must solve KVPY previous year question papers and sample papers as much as possible.
Take a mock test. Taking a mock test is important as you get to know how the actual exam would be and it reduces your exam fear.
When you have a few days left for the exam, revise concepts. If you have notes where you have noted down the important formulas, theorems and key terms, go through them.

KVPY Question Papers 2018
The examination authority has released previous years’ question papers of KVPY in English and Hindi. Candidates can download the same and practise them to get an idea about the type of questions asked in the exam. KVPY 2018 Syllabus
Students preparing for KVPY 2018 have to cover all important topics from the sections in KVPY syllabus 2018. The sections covered the syllabus of KVPY are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. There is no such prescribed syllabus for KVPY 2018 as the exam aims at testing the analytical ability and understanding of candidates rather than their factual knowledge. The test will cover topics from the syllabus up to class 10, 12 and 1st year of B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., Int. M.Sc. or M.S., depending on the stream applied for.
KVPY 2018 Exam Pattern
KVPY exam pattern 2018 will give candidates an idea about the paper pattern such as the number of questions, marking scheme, total marks, the medium of paper and so on. SA stream will have questions from Science and Mathematics wherein attempting all questions is compulsory. While SB and SX stream will have two parts divided into four sections including Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. A student must answer three subjects in part one and two subjects in part two. A candidate may attempt more or all of the subjects. In that case best of three and two would be considered in part I and II respectively.

KVPY 2018 is a computer-based test. To allow candidates to get an idea of the exam pattern, environment etc, IISc Bangalore has released the mock test of KVPY 2018. Candidates can solve the KVPY 2018 mock test to practice and check how the exam will be like and get an idea of the number of questions, duration of the same. KVPY 2018 Application Form
The online KVPY application form 2018 was released on July 11 and the last date to apply was August 31, 2018. Candidates had to follow a series of steps to fill the application form of KVPY like registering, filling the details, uploading documents, paying the non-refundable fee and finally submitting the form. The steps are detailed below.
KVPY 2018 Application fee
For General and OBC category - Rs. 1000.
For SC/ST/PwD candidates - Rs 500.
Step 1:Click on the application link to start the application process.
Step 2: Register for KVPY 2018 by entering the name, date of birth, class, stream, mobile, email ID and nationality.
Step 3: After successfully registering, the login credentials will be sent via email and SMS. Login using the details and fill personal and educational details.
Step 4: Upload photograph (in JPG/JPEG format with a file size less than 150 KB), signature (in JPG/JPEG format with a file size less than 80 KB). SC/ST and PWD candidates must also upload a scanned copy of caste certificate while PwD candidates must upload the medical certificate in PDF format (less than 300 KB).
Step 5: Choose four test centres in the order of preference.
Step 6: Preview and submit the application form of KVPY.
Step 7: Pay KVPY 2018 exam fee (payable online via credit card/debit card/net banking).
Important: Candidates were advised to check their KVPY 2018 application status to know if it had been submitted successfully. One should also take a printout of the same for future reference.
KVPY 2018 FAQs
Q. Can I avail the KVPY Fellowship if I already have another merit scholarship?
A: No. KVPY scholarship cannot be availed simultaneously with another fellowship /scholarship, be it government or private. In order to avail KVPY 2018 Fellowship, students will have to relinquish any other fellowship or scholarship that they are in receipt of.
Q. Who do I contact in case I have any KVPY examination centre related queries?

Q. What are the examination timings of KVPY 2018?
A: KVPY 2018 for Stream SA will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and that for stream SB/SX will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm. Candidates should report to their allotted exam centre before 1 hour.
Q. What is the syllabus for KVPY 2018?
A: IISc Bangalore has not prescribed any specific syllabus for the aptitude test. Students will be evaluated on the basis of their understanding and analytical ability. However, there will be questions from the syllabus up to class X/XII/ UG first year as applicable.
Q. Can I carry the calculator in KVPY examination hall?
A: No, calculators or any electronic devices are not allowed. You can use Virtual calculators which will be made available on the computer screen.
Q. Can I attempt KVPY in Hindi Language?
A:Yes, you can attempt the KVPY 2018 exam in either English or Hindi Language.
