About KVPY 2017 Fellowship Programme
KVPY 2017 is a fellowship programme in Basic Sciences, which is conducted to analyse and select talented candidates who have research ability, exceptional academic qualification to shortlist them for studies in basic sciences so that they can pursue scientific researches and development of the country. Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India has started the KVPY fellowship programme in 1999. The DST completely funds KVPY 2017 by providing the selected students with monthly stipend and Annual Contingency Grants as under -

Candidates applying for KVPY 2017 need to fulfil eligibility criteria for the fellowship programme. The KVPY eligibility criteria 2017 mentions academic conditions, marks required and age limit. Candidates pursuing an undergraduate degree in Basic Sciences such as B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in different science subjects are only eligible to apply
For KVPY 2017 Stream SA – Aspirants currently in XIth class with science subjects who have obtained minimum 75% marks in mathematics and science subjects in class 10 state/national board qualifying exam are eligible for KVPY 2017
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD must have obtained 65% marks in aggregate of Mathematics and Science subjects
For KVPY 2017 Stream SX – Candidates currently in Class 12 under 10+2 pattern should obtain 60% marks in the qualifying exam and 50% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates
Candidates who will be pursuing undergraduate programmes in basic sciences only are eligible for KVPY 2017
Candidates must have scored 75% marks in class 10 and for SC/ST/PwD candidates, the qualifying marks are 65% in aggregate of all science subjects and mathematics
For KVPY 2017Stream SB – Candidates currently in the first year of Bachelor degree in Basic Sciences who had obtained 60% marks in 10+2 qualifying exam (50% for reserved categories) are eligible for KVPY 2017
Also, candidates need to obtain minimum 60% marks in first-year examination of Bachelor degree
However, for SC/ST/PwD candidates, the marks should be 50% or more.
Note: Candidates pursuing the undergraduate programme in distance mode from any University, are not eligible to apply for KVPY 2017
IISc Bangalore has released application form of KVPY in online mode only. The KVPY 2017 application form has begun from July 16, and candidates need to apply before August 23 for seeking fellowship through KVPY 2017. The candidates must go through instructions and eligibility criteria before filling up the KVPY application form 2017. Candidates applying for KVPY 2017 also need to remit an application fee of INR 1000 for General and OBC category, INR 500 if belonging to SC/ST/PWD category. After registration with candidates basic like name, DOB, academic details, mobile number and email, candidates will be provided login Id and password for KVPY 2017

The admit card of KVPY will be available by the fourth week of October 2017. KVPY 2017 admit card will be available in online mode only. The admit card of KVPY 2017 mentions important details like candidate's name, roll number, photograph, signature as well as exam details, test centre details, besides instructions etc. Candidates must carry the KVPY admit card 2017 with them at the exam centre as it is considered as hall ticket and without it, no candidate will be permitted inside the examination hall. Candidates can obtain their KVPY admit card 2017 by login through their registered account on entering their application number/registration Id and password. Candidates need to download KVPY 2017 admit card at least three days before the exam to avoid any last minute discrepancy. In a case of any problem in downloading the KVPY admit card 2017 candidates must contact the exam conducting authority.

The nationwide aptitude test of KVPY 2017 will be conducted at various exam centres all over India. Candidates will be allotted exam centre as per their choice or nearest to their choice as filled in the KVPY application form 2017. The allotted KVPY 2017 exam centre will be mentioned with the address on admit card of KVPY 2017. Candidates need to reach their allotted exam centre at least an hour before the scheduled time. Last year, the KVPY was conducted at as many as 54 cities. The exam conducting authority will be providing an updated list of KVPY exam centres 2017. Candidates can not change their allotted exam centre of KVPY 2017 once it is allotted. However, IISc reserves right to change the exam centre as per availability of KVPY exam centres 2017.

The answer key of KVPY 2017 will be released at least four to five days after the conduct of the examination. KVPY Selection Procedure 2017
Candidates who will appear for Aptitude Test and Interview will be selected for fellowship programme. Candidates need to meet the cutoff marks and eligibility criteria for KVPY 2017.
