Congratulations on being a topper in your School! Can you tell us something about yourself?
Shloka: Thank you so much. I’m Shlokaa Upadhyaya, a Humanities student with a deep interest in subjects like Political Science, History, and Geography. I’ve always believed in consistency and sincerity, and I’m passionate about making a meaningful impact in society.
What was your reaction after seeing the result?
Honestly, it felt surreal. Scoring 99.8% was beyond my expectations, and I was filled with immense gratitude towards my parents, teachers, and everyone who supported me throughout the journey.
Can you share some of your study habits and techniques that helped you excel in your exams?
The biggest key was revising my NCERT textbooks thoroughly—I’ve read them at least 10 to 15 times. I relied on handwritten notes, solved previous years’ papers, and made sure I understood every concept rather than rote learning.
How did you manage your time effectively between academics, extracurricular activities, and personal life during your study time?
Sticking to a routine helped me a lot. I made realistic to-do lists and gave equal importance to breaks and recreation, ensuring my mind stayed fresh and focused.
Were there any specific subjects or topics that you found particularly challenging? How did you overcome those challenges?
More than any subject, it was the internal challenge of self-doubt that I had to overcome. There were moments when I questioned whether I could actually do it. Talking to my parents, staying connected with my goals, and constantly reminding myself of how far I’d come really helped.
Did you have any role models or mentors who inspired and guided you throughout your academic journey? How did they contribute to your success?
My parents have been my strongest pillars—they constantly motivated me and believed in me even when I doubted myself. My teachers were also incredibly supportive, offering guidance at every step and encouraging me to aim high.

Which books did you use while preparing for exams?
NCERT textbooks were my primary and most trusted resource. I focused on reading them multiple times until every concept became crystal clear.
How did you stay motivated and focused, especially during stressful periods like exam time?
I reminded myself of why I started—to achieve something bigger in the long run. Watching motivational videos, taking short breaks, and occasionally journaling helped me stay grounded.
Did you appear for any competitive or entrance examination, and how was your performance in it?
I’m currently preparing for the CUET exam, which is scheduled for 21st and 26th May. I’ve been putting in consistent effort, and I’m hopeful for a good result.
How did you manage your time for board exam and competitive exam preparation?
During the boards, I gave my full attention to NCERT-based preparation. Now that the board exams are over, I’ve shifted my focus entirely to CUET preparation with a structured timetable.
What advice would you give to current and future students who aspire to achieve academic excellence like you?
Believe in your ability, trust the process, and never underestimate the power of NCERTs. Consistency beats intensity. Also, don’t shy away from asking for help—be it from teachers, peers, or even your own self in the form of self-reflection.
Lastly, what are your future educational and career goals?
I aspire to prepare for the Civil Services Examination and serve the country as an officer. I hope to bring about meaningful change.
