International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 2014 - International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), a national level scholarship/fellowship/Olympiad programme, is conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) to motivate children towards Mathematics education.

 

IMO exam is held every year by SOF, a non-profit organization, to popularize Mathematics education among school students.

 

IMO Level 1 is held on two dates every year. Any of the two dates can be selected by schools for conducting the exam as per their suitability. For both the exam dates, different question papers are prepared.

 

SOF, recently, declared to conduct IMO 2014 on Dec 4 and Dec 18, 2014.

 

IMO will be conducted in two stages – Stage 1 and Stage 2, according to IMO marking scheme and paper pattern declared by SOF.

 

SOF has also declared revised paper pattern and marking scheme for IMO to be held in upcoming months.

IMO 2014 Application Form - For IMO, students are registered through their respective schools only. The complete IMO Application Form of students is sent by the schools registered with SOF to the foundation by the due date every year. A minimum of 10 students can be registered by every school.

 

By the due form submission date, schools also send a copy of the students' Roll Numbers generated as per SOF guidelines, Registration Sheet (SRS) and School Registration Form (SRF) to the Foundation.

 

IMO 2014 Eligibility Criteria - Students studying in Class 2 to Class 12 are eligible for IMO, as per the IMO Eligibility Criteria. Schools sends duly filled application forms of their respective eligible students to the SOF.

 

IMO 2014 Selection Process - IMO is conducted in two levels. Level 1, a written objective-type test comprising questions from various domains, is conducted at the schools during school hours. Top 5% of candidates from every class in the merit list of Level 1 exam are called for Level 2 exam. The students who qualify the Level 2 round are shortlisted for IMO scholarship/fellowship.

 

IMO 2014 Paper Pattern - Level 1: Participants appear in a written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration carrying 35 multiple-choice questions of 40 marks for class 2 to class 4 and 50 multiple-choice questions of 60 marks for class 5 to class 12. Question paper carries questions from Logical Reasoning (b) Mathematical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics and Achiever's Section.

 

Level 2: For class 3 to class 4 students, as many as 35 questions of 40 marks and for class 5 to class 12, a total of 50 questions of 60 marks are asked from Mathematics and Achievers Section.
