Delhi Public School (DPS), Chandigarh, recently commemorated Mental Health Week. An insightful session on the topic of ‘Addiction’ was conducted for the students of classes 9 to 12. The discussion was facilitated by Dr. Ajeet Sidana, Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The purpose of the event was to make the students more self-aware, appreciate the importance of self-improvement, and remind them that they are capable of overcoming any pain or shame.

Sangeeta Sood, headmistress of Delhi Public School (DPS), Chandigarh, recently received a State Commendation Certificate for her work in education. The diploma was presented to DPS Chandigarh, by the Chandigarh administration's Education Department at a Teachers' Day ceremony with Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator, Banwarilal Purohit, as the principal guest and Chandigarh Member of Parliament, Kirron Kher, as the guest of honour.

The mental health workshop on 'Addiction' was an initiative toward raising awareness about mental health and illnesss, reducing stigma, and treating the issue before it becomes serious. The development and learning of students are significantly and directly impacted by their mental health. It was a sincere effort to get the young minds moving and encourage their self-belief in all matters of the heart and the world.
