Q- Can a student of class 10 apply for KVPY 2019?
Ans: Minimum educational qualification for KVPY is class 10 passed and enrolled in class 11. So students studying in class 10 can’t apply for KVPY 2019. They can prepare for KVPY 2020 and after 10, in class 11 if they choose science subjects then they will be eligible to apply for KVPY exam.
Q- What is SA/SX/SB in KVPY?
Ans: KVPY exam is conducted for these three streams on the basis of candidates qualification. The streams are allotted to candidates on the basis of the following criteria:
SA in KVPY - Students enrolled in class 11 with aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Maths and science class 10 exam.
SX in KVPY- Class 12 students with aggregate 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Maths and science class 10 exam.
SB in KVPY - Students studying in 1st year of UG in basic science with aggregate 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Maths and science in 12th class exams.
Q. I have completed my class 12 in 2018. Can I apply for KVPY 2019?
Ans: Yes, you can apply for KVPY 2019 in SB stream if you are enrolled in basic science undergraduate program. You should have 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in Maths and science in 12th class exams.
Q- Can I give KVPY after class 12?
Ans: Yes, you can apply for KVPY after 12 if you are studying in 1st year of UG program in basic sciences with 60% marks in class 12.

Q- When is the KVPY application form released?
Ans: KVPY application form 2019 is released online only in the second week of July 2019 and last date to apply for KVPY will be in the last week of August 2019.
Q. I have forgotten my User ID/password. How can I retrieve them?
Ans: KVPY user ID/password is sent to candidate’s mobile number and Email at the time of creation. If any candidate forgot it or deleted from mobile then he/she can get it from E-mail inbox. Candidates can easily retrieve or recover his/her password by following the steps given below:

Click on the link of Forgot password.
Enter user ID and captcha.
Click on ‘Get password’.
The new password will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number/Email.
Q-What should be the size of scanned documents to be uploaded?
Size of the photograph should be less than 150kb in JPG/JPEG format.
Size of signature file should be less than 80kb in JPG/JPEG format.
Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates should be less than 300 kb in pdf format.
Medical certificate for PWD candidates should be in pdf format.
Q. I have made mistakes in my application form. How can I correct it?
Ans: IISc opens correction window for KVPY application forms after the closing of new application. So you will be able to make corrections by logging in to your KVPY login account. After logging in, click on the button titled ‘EDIT’ on the top left corner of the page.

Ans: Candidates will need to have the following document in the form of soft copy and these will be uploaded during the filling of application form.

Ans: IISc prescribed no syllabus for KVPY exam aptitude test. But this test is conducted with the aim of testing a candidate’s understanding and analytical thinking. However, the questions are expected from the syllabus up to class X/XII/1st year basic science UG program as a candidate’s stream.
Q. Is it necessary that the students have to study all the four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics?
Ans: It mandatory only for the candidates appearing under SA stream. For them, the questions will be asked from Maths and Science subject whereas the candidates appearing under SX/SB streams will have the choice to attempt any three in Part I and any two in Part II. Check, KVPY exam pattern.

Yes ofcourse, why not? Kinemetics is the major part from wherein questions are asked in KVPY exams. If you talk about the weightage, then it would be around 1-3 questions from ROTATIONAL motion. Don't fear this chapter, it's a very easy one and things will become easy once you sit and work hard for it. I was stuck in the same situation a year ago and then later on I also found it much easy but it was time up way too late. So better go for it right now.
