Inspire Scholarship Eligibility 2025-26

Only students who meet the following Inspire scholarship eligibility requirements can apply for the Inspire scholarship program.

Educational Eligibility 2025-26

  • Students aged 17-22 years can apply for scholarships.
  • The top 1% of meritorious 12th Class students from any state or central school board.
  • Students who have secured a JEE or NEET rank within the top 10,000 can also apply for the Inspire scholarship 2026.
  • Students who meet any of the mentioned qualifying requirements and are pursuing a BSc, BS, or International MSc/MS in fundamental and natural science are eligible for the Inspire scholarship program 2025-26.
  • Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars, and International Olympiad medalists who are studying UG or PG courses in Natural and Basic sciences can also apply for the Inspire scholarship program.

Inspire Scholarship Application Form 2025-26

Students can apply for a new scholarship online and renew their existing scholarship using the same portal. The following are the key steps to apply for the Inspire Scholarship 2025-26.

  • Visit the official website at online-inspire.gov.in.
  • For a new scholarship, click on the new user registration page.
  • Fill out all of the required information and submit it.
  • Log in with the generated credentials, and the candidate dashboard will appear on the screen.
  • Open the scholarship link and enter personal details, current educational information, 12th class details/National level competitive exam details, other details, and contact details.
  • Now, verify all of the information and submit it.
  • Students should keep track of their Inspire scholarship status 2025-26 by writing down their application reference number/IVR No.
  • Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
  • Visit the National Scholarship Portal to apply for other state-level and national-level scholarships.

Selection Procedure for Inspire Scholarship 2025-26

  • There is no exam conducted to provide this scholarship. Students are selected based on their performance in the 12th class. Before applying, they must check the Inspire scholarship eligibility for Class 12 students.
  • Board-wise cutoff marks are released on the official website as a PDF file. Students who have attained equal to or more than the cutoff marks are selected for the DST Inspire scholarship.
  • They will have to open a savings bank account and link the same to Aadhar. Now, upload the scanned file of the self-attested photocopy of the passbook’s first page on the DST web portal.

Inspire Scholarship Amount 2025-26

Following selection, each student will receive Rs 80,000 per year. The Inspire scholarship amount is divided into two parts: annual scholarship (Rs 60,000) and summer attachment fees (Rs 20,000). The yearly scholarship of Rs 60,000 is transferred into the student's account in monthly instalments of Rs 5,000.

  • Summer attachment fees of Rs 20,000 are paid to students who participated in the summer research project.
  • A total of 12,000 Inspire SHE scholarships are made available to qualified students.
  • The scholarship is available for a maximum of five years or until the course is completed.

Inspire Scholarship Cut-off 2025-26

The Inspire scholarship cut-off 2026 is the bare minimum number of marks required to be selected for the DST Inspire SHE scholarship. Students with the same or higher scores in their 12th board results are chosen for the scholarship. The DST Inspire scholarship results will be announced online in June 2026. Students can access their results by entering into the online portal. The selection list and rejection lists can also be downloaded from the official website. These lists will include the selected student's IVR number, name, and father's name. Students can also check the reason for rejection in the rejected list.

Renewal of Inspire Scholarship 2025-26

  • The scholarship's renewal is mostly determined by the candidate's performance.

  • Students must submit their performance report and result mark sheet within 12 months following the release of the results.

  • Only students who have achieved 60% or more marks (7.0 GPA or above) in the University/College exams will be eligible for the continuation of the DST Inspire scholarship 2026.

  • Students who did not attend the examinations or did not get the necessary marks are not eligible for the scholarship.
