KVPY Eligibility Criteria: 

For Stream SA: 

  • Students of Class XI in Science with a minimum of of 80% in aggregate in Mathematics and Science in Class X board exams (70% for SC/ST/PH).

For Stream SX: 

  • Students of Class XII in Science with a minimum of of 80% in aggregate in Mathematics and Science in Class X board exams (70% for SC/ST/PH) OR candidates in their second year of study in Cambridge International Examination Board

  • They must take admissions to an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences like Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc. /B.S. /B.Stat. /B.Math. /Int. M.Sc./M.S. in the year 2014-15

  • They must also secure a minimum of 60% in Maths  & Science Subjects Class XII (50% for SC/ST/PH)


For Stream SB: 

  • Candidates in the first year of study in basic sciences ( B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) with a minimum of 60% in Maths  & Science Subjects Class XII board exams (50% for SC/ST/PH)


KVPY Paper Pattern:

For SA:

  • Subjects to cover: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

  • 15 Questions for one mark each

  • 5 questions for two marks each


  • Subjects to cover: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

  • 20 Questions for one mark each

  • 10 questions for two marks each


KVPY 2013 Application process:
Offline: Candidates have to send a request on a plain paper enclosing the paid “Bank Challan/ Pay-in-slip” clearly indicating the stream SA/SX/SB on the envelope to the KVPY authorities at the address given below.

IISER Admission process shall be weighted on 3 phases - SCB (State and Central Boards Channel), KVPY exam (Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) & JEE Advanced exam . Students are free to register for all the 3 exams but they should be fulfilling the eligibility criteria of each exam they are registering.

Hello there!


Kvpy results has not been declared yet but yes IISc Bangalore will declare the KVPY 2019 result in the second week of December 2019 at but exact dates are not clear yet. You need to enter your application number and date of birth to check the result of KVPY 2019. The details of students, qualifying status, scores obtained by them will be mentioned on the KVPY result 2019. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2019 was held on November 3, 2019. If you manage to qualify the KVPY aptitude test 2019 then you will be eligible for interviews, to be held in the 2nd week of January 2020. how many student appeared in KVPY 2019

Yes I'll give you a mere idea. So nearly around 50 thousand students appeared for the Kishore Vaigyanik Protasahan Yojana SA stream. Out of which nearly 1-1.5 thousand students are selected. Numbers of the students vary each year so as the cutoffs are the cutoff depend on various factors like number of candidates appearing and also the paper level, etc.

when will the result of KVPY stream SA 2019 be announced?

Actually exact dates has not been declared yet but it is expected that the result of KVPY 2019 will be declared in the 2nd week of December 2019. You will have to enter your hall ticket number to access the result. If you manage to obtain the cutoff marks then you will be called for the Interview. After the interviews, final merit list will be released.
