The Department of Science and Technology (DST) offers Inspire scholarships to provide financial aid for further education to students. It stands for Innovation in Science Pursuit of Inspired Research. The Inspire scholarship 2024-25 is a merit-based scholarship. Students who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the SHE Inspire 2024-25 scholarship.
The DST Inspire programme's major goal is to attract students to study fundamental science and provide them the opportunity to pursue a career in scientific research. Only students who meet the following Inspire scholarship eligibility requirements are eligible to apply for the Inspire scholarship programme.
Students in the age group 17-22 years can apply for scholarships.
The top 1% of meritorious 12th Class students from any state or central school board.
Students who have secured JEE or NEET rank within 10000 ranks can also apply for the Inspire scholarship 2024-25.
Students who meet any of the mentioned qualifying requirements and are pursuing a BSc, BS, or International MSc/MS in fundamental and natural science are eligible for the Inspire scholarship programme 2024-25.
Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars and International Olympiad medalists who are studying UG or PG courses in Natural and Basic science can also apply for the Inspire scholarship program.

Inspire scholarship 2024 is only available to regular course students.

Other courses in Medicine, Agriculture, Psychology, Engineering, Seed Technology, Military Science, Anthropology, Defense Studies, Home Science, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Geography, Economics, Physical Education, Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, and Instrumentation.
Students enrolled in distance education are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Students can apply for a new scholarship online and renew their existing scholarship using the same portal.
The following are the key steps to apply for Inspire Scholarship 2024-25.
Visit the official website: online-inspire.gov.in.
For a new scholarship, click on the new user registration page.
Fill out all of the required information and submit it.
Log in with the generated credentials, and the candidate dashboard will appear on the screen.
Open the scholarship link and enter personal details, current educational information, 12th class details/National level competitive exam details, other details and contact details.
Now, verify all of the information and submit it.
Students should keep track of their Inspire scholarship status 2024 by writing down their application reference number/IVR No.
Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
Visit the National scholarship portal to apply for other state-level and national-level scholarships.
When applying for the Inspire 2024 scholarship, please attach a scanned copy of the following documents:
Passport size photograph (Compulsory for all)
10th class mark sheet (Compulsory for all)
12th class mark sheet (Compulsory for all)
Caste Certificate (for OBC/SC/ST)
Certificate specifying rank in National level competitive entrance exam (if applying under this category)

There is no exam conducted to provide this scholarship. Students are selected based on their performance in the 12th class.
Board-wise cutoff marks are released on the official website as a PDF file. Students who have attained equal or more than the cutoff marks are selected for the DST Inspire scholarship.
They will have to open a savings bank account and link the same with Aadhar. Now, upload the scanned file of the self-attested photocopy of the passbook’s first page on the DST web portal.

Following selection, each student will receive Rs 80,000 per year. The Inspire scholarship money is divided into two parts: annual scholarship (Rs 60,000) and summertime attachment fees (Rs. 20,000).
The yearly scholarship of Rs 60,000 is transferred into the student's account in monthly instalments of Rs 5,000.
Summer attachment fees of Rs 20,000 are paid to students who participated in the summer research project.
A total of 12,000 Inspire SHE scholarships are made available to qualified students.
The scholarship is available for a maximum of five years or until the course is completed.
The Inspire scholarship cutoff is the bare minimum number of marks required to be selected for the DST Inspire SHE scholarship. Students with the same or higher scores in their 12th board results are chosen for the scholarship.

The DST Inspire scholarship results will be announced online in February 2025. Students can access their results by entering into the online portal. The selection list and rejection lists can also be downloaded from the official website. These lists will include the selected student's IVR number, name, and father's name. Students can also check the reason for rejection in the rejected list.
The scholarship's renewal is mostly determined by the candidate's performance.
Students must submit their performance report and result mark sheet within 12 months following the release of the results.
Only students who have achieved 60% or more marks (7.0 GPA or above) in the University/College exams will be eligible for the continuation of the DST Inspire scholarship 2024-25.
Students who did not attend the examinations or did not get the necessary marks are not eligible for the scholarship.

INSPIRE Fellowship is one of the components of INSPIRE scheme implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to strengthen the Science and Technology base of the country. This component focusses on attracting students to pursue doctoral degree in basic and applied sciences including engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary, pharmacy etc. after either master’s degree in science/engineering or bachelor/ master’s degree in Medicine.
Under Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE component), 12,000 scholarships (from SHE-2017 batch onwards), each valued at ` 80,000/- are announced annually to students pursuing Bachelors and Masters level courses in Basic and Natural Science areas.
