This year, the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2025 released the IOQM normalisation scores along with the final results on October 24, 2025. The IOQM exam was conducted in two different sessions, one on the original date of September 7, 2025, and the other was scheduled for some regions on September 28, 2025. The olympiad was cancelled in some regions due to an unavoidable situation related to the weather, and the original exam date was shifted to September 28, 2025. The conducting body decided to use the IOQM normalisation 2025 for a fair and impartial evaluation of the students.

The IOQM normalisation 2025-26 will help the authorities to evaluate the papers fairly. As the examination is being conducted in two different sessions, there can be several factors which can negatively affect the scores of the students. If the difficulty level and marking of the two sessions differ for any reason, then the raw scores from one session can be an unfair advantage or disadvantage for the students. The IOQM normalisation 2025-26 will help the authorities to maintain fairness, so that the candidates are not penalised because of the date they have appeared in the session. The marks scored by the candidates will be adjusted.
The average score for all the candidates who appeared in the IOQM 2025-26 on September 7, 2025, will be taken as the reference score.
The average score for the students who appeared in the exam on September 28, 2025, will be calculated separately.
Let us consider the average score for September 7, 2025, is A, and the average score for September 28, 2025, is B, then the scaling factor is A/B.

The normalised score of IOQM 2025 will apply to the following certifications:
National Certificate
Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO)
Regional Certificates
The IOQM result 2025-26 (provisional) was announced by the Mathematics Teachers’ Association, India (MTA) on October 15, 2025, for stage 1. To check the results, the candidates need to visit the official website at ioqmexam.in, then enter their registration number and date of birth, and submit the details.
