The Government of Karnataka has introduced the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) to facilitate the efficient and seamless implementation and disbursement of scholarships from its various departments. This portal consists of two main segments: the SSP pre-matric scholarship 2024 and the SSP post-matric scholarship 2024.

SSP Scholarship 2023-24 Eligibility Criteria

All scholarships listed on the SSP scholarship portal have a primary eligibility requirement: the applicant must be a legal resident of Karnataka. In addition to this condition, other requirements must also be met to apply for an SSP scholarship. The table below offers comprehensive details on these criteria.

Post-matric Scholarship for SC Students

  • Students must be a resident of Karnataka to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • They have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in their most recent final examination.

  • Student family's annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

Post-matric Scholarship for ST Students

  • Students must be a resident of Karnataka to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • They have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in their most recent final examination.

  • Student family's annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

Vidyasiri Scholarship

  • The student must be a resident of Karnataka and belong to either the SC/ST or minority community.

  • The student must have maintained a minimum attendance of 75% throughout the academic year.

  • For SC/ST candidates, the annual income of their family should not exceed INR 2 lakh.

  • For OBC candidates, the annual income of their family should not exceed INR 1 lakh.

Post-matric Scholarship for Backward Classes Students

  • Residency: Students must be residents of Karnataka and belong to the Backward Classes category.

  • Educational Level: Students must be pursuing studies at the post-matriculation level.

  • Academic Performance: Students must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks (for category 1) and 60% marks (for categories 2A, 3A, and 3B) in their previous examination.

  • Family Income: The annual family income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

  • Students must be a resident of Karnataka to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • They have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in their most recent final examination.

  • Student family's annual income should not exceed INR 2 lakh.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities

  • The student must possess a domicile in Karnataka.

  • The student must be enrolled in Class 11, 12, graduate, postgraduate, technical or vocational courses, M.Phil or PhD.

  • The student must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in their previous final examination.

  • The student's annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh from all sources.

  • The student must identify with the minority community, including Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian/Parsi.

Merit cum Means Scholarship

  • The student must have a domicile in Karnataka.

  • The student should be in Class 9.

  • The students must have achieved a minimum of 55% or equivalent marks in Class 8 (with a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST students).

  • The family's income must be less than INR 2.5 lakhs from all sources.

Fee Reimbursement for Engineering and Diploma Engineering SC/ST Students

  • The student should have a domicile in Karnataka.

  • The annual family income of the student should fall between INR 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh.

  • For the Defence Scholarship, the student's parents must be serving in the Army, Navy, or Airforce, or working as JCO/NCO/Lower rank personnel. This scholarship is specifically available for ST/SC students.

Fee Reimbursement for SC/ST Medical Students

  • The student should have a domicile in Karnataka.

  • The annual family income of the student should fall between INR 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh.

Post-matric Scholarship for Karnataka State Brahmin

  • The student must be a resident of Karnataka and come from a Brahmin community.
  • The annual income of the student's family should not exceed INR 8 lakh.
  • The student must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in their most recent final examination.

Documents Required for SSP Scholarship 2023-24

The SSP scholarship application is deemed incomplete if the required supporting documents are not uploaded by the applicants. To be considered for any scholarship on our portal, applicants must provide the following documents.

How to Apply for the SSP Scholarship 2023-24?

To apply for any of the mentioned scholarships, interested individuals must make use of the SSP portal and submit their applications online. Below are the steps that applicants can follow to successfully apply for all types of SSP scholarships.

Step 1- Create an Account

  • Visit the official website of the SSP scholarship, ssp.karnataka.gov.in.

  • Click on the link on the homepage “Post-Matric Scholarship for FY 2024.

  • Next click on “Create Account”.

  • Fill in the mandatory fields, tick on the consent, and click on the “Proceed” button.

  • Following this process, the applicants' Aadhar will be linked to their bank account. Next, provide the email address, mobile number, and OTP, and click on the "Submit" button.

  • Now enter the certificate’s details and click on the “Proceed” button.

  • Upon clicking the proceed button, the applicants will be prompted to verify their name on the certificates. Should the name be accurate, the applicants will be redirected to the subsequent page.

  • In case the applicants possess a ration card, they are required to select "yes" and provide their ration card number. Alternatively, if they do not possess a ration card, they must apply for one to continue with the process.

  • Upon entering the ration card number, a list of family members will be displayed. Choose the applicant's name from the roster and proceed by clicking on the "Check" button.

  • Next, generate a password and click on the "Submit" button.

Step 2- Student Login

  • Visit the SSP scholarship's official website, ssp.karnataka.gov.in.

  • Click on the dashboard's "Student Login" button.

  • Provide a Username, password, and captcha to access the account.

  • After logging in, proceed to finalise the scholarship application by providing all necessary information in the application form.

  • Ensure to fill in all the required details accurately. Additionally, kindly upload all relevant documents and apply.

Step 3- e-Attestation of Documents

SSP scholarship portal applicants need to get their documents e-Attested by their college e-Attestation officer in order to apply. The following steps will guide an applicant through the process of getting their documents attested online

  • Go to the official website of the SSP scholarship and navigate to the homepage.

  • Locate and select the option "Click here for e-authentication portal (Students)" to proceed.

  • A new window will appear, where candidate need to provide their Aadhaar number, captcha, and consent the appropriate box.

  • Finally, click on the "Verify" button.

  • Upon verification, candidate will be redirected to the student profile page.

  • Fill in the required information such as college name, university name, course, etc., and proceed to upload the necessary documents.

  • Next, click on the "Aadhar Consent" form, complete the form, and download it.

  • To get the form and original documents attested, visit the e-Attestation officer in college.

  • Once the officer e-Attests the documents, they will be displayed in the Approved documents section.
