Merit cum Means Scholarship Eligibility 2025

  • Students must belong to a minority category: Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrian (Parsis)

  • The parents' annual income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

  • He/she must score at least 50% marks in the previous examination.

Merit cum Means Scholarship Selection Procedure

  • The number of scholarships in each state is fixed, and during state-wise allocation, the students from the listed institutions will be added first to the merit list.

  • Other students will be selected in the merit list based on merit (percentage or marks in the previous examination).

  • If the marks are the same, the income will be considered to make the merit list.

  • Fresh Applicant: Eligible students need to register on the NSP portal after the applications go live on scholarships.gov.in.

Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Minorities, West Bengal

SVMCM for minorities is offered by the Government of West Bengal to deserving and economically backwards students. These SVMCM scholarship awards range from Rs 1000 - 8000/- per month, based on merit. It helps students who wish to pursue higher studies.
