Tables are basically the list of numbers that we get while doing mathematical calculations. Mathematical calculations may include addition, subtraction, multiplication or division but what we get in the table or how the table is formed, is by addition or multiplication.
The continuous addition or the repetitive addition of the natural number can give the multiplication table of that number. We just need to keep on adding the same natural number, the number of times we want our answer to be. Else, we will use other calculation methods to obtain the answer like subtraction, multiplication or division.
The table is what comes from multiplying the natural number by the number of times we want that number to add. So, subsequently, we have two different methods by which we can opt for this. Either by repeatedly adding the same number, the number of times we want it to be or by directly multiplying that natural number with that number whose product we need.
117 is a composite number, which means it has more than two factors i.e 1,3,9,13,39,117. This shows that this particular number has multiple factors and this number can be obtained from the certain calculation of these factors.
Multiplication is important because it is a fundamental mathematical concept that adds to a new variation that you can get to use in everyday activities.
For Example- In everyday Life, wherever you go you need calculations to be done if you even buy a single product, therefore it is very important to hold hands on multiplication so as to if someone is standing in front of you and you can’t add on the same number six or seven times, but directly multiplication will give you a quick result.
Q1- what is the answer you get after adding the number 117 nine times?
Ans- Adding 117, Nine times can be done in two ways:
Method 1
Add the natural number 117, nine times and get the answer like
117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117 = 1053
Method 2
We can directly multiply the number 117, by the number of times it was asked to add.
For: 117 \times 9=1053
Opting out for the second method, will save you time and repetitive calculations that would have a more chance of creating mistakes. While the Multiplication method will save time and create fewer mistakes.
Q2- What is the square of 117?
Ans- Square is basically two times the same natural number means that they were asking for what would be the answer if when we multiply the natural number two times like 117\times 117= 13689 .
Q3- Why is a table introduced in mathematics?
Ans- A table is the best way to learn when a student practices and it will help students create fewer or no mistakes when doing a huge calculation. Students who do not learn tables properly may keep on doing some mistakes while doing calculations, and also these calculations are time-consuming sometimes, and they may end up getting the wrong answer.
Q4- Calculate 117 times 4.
Ans- 117+117+117+117= 468
Or, directly multiplying 117X4= 468
Times table basically represents that when a number n is added to itself ‘m’ times the result is equal to the number as “n ✖ m”, the repeated addition yields the same result as multiplication. It is shown below in the table.
117 × 1 = 117 | 117 |
117 × 2 = 234 | 117+117=234 |
117 × 3 = 351 | 117+117+117=351 |
117 × 4 = 468 | 117+117+117+117=468 |
117 × 5 = 585 | 117+117+117+117+117=585 |
117 × 6 = 702 | 117+117+117+117+117+117=702 |
117 × 7 = 819 | 117+117+117+117+117+117+117=819 |
117 × 8 = 936 | 117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117=936 |
117 × 9 = 1053 | 117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117=1053 |
117 × 10 = 1170 | 117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117+117=1170 |
117 | ✖ | 1 | 117 |
117 | ✖ | 2 | 234 |
117 | ✖ | 3 | 351 |
117 | ✖ | 4 | 468 |
117 | ✖ | 5 | 585 |
117 | ✖ | 6 | 702 |
117 | ✖ | 7 | 819 |
117 | ✖ | 8 | 936 |
117 | ✖ | 9 | 1053 |
117 | ✖ | 10 | 1170 |
117 is a whole number, a Composite number and a natural number also.
No, 117 is not a prime number. As its factors are more than 2. It can be divisible by 1,3,9 etc. It is a composite number.
Other than 1 we will get the number 117 in the table of 3 and 9 also.
No, first of all, it is not an even number so cannot be divided by 2. I.e, 117 ending with an odd number cannot be divisible by 2.
The value of the cube root of 117 is 4.89 which is not a whole number. So 117 is not a perfect cube. The nearest previous perfect cube is 125 and the nearest next perfect cube is 216.
