Ganesh Chaturthi is an annual festival and one of the most revered festivals in India. Also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the festival marks the birth of the Hindu God Ganesha. More specifically, the festival signifies the arrival of Lord Ganesha with his mother, Goddess Parvati, to earth from Mount Kailash (Kailash Parvat). The Ganesh Chaturthi rituals have a solid mythological origin and have been celebrated for many years. People organize various programs on this festival and some people give Ganesh Chaturthi speech in English to address the gathering in temples.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a joyful festival in India. Maharashtra, an Indian state in the west, is where the celebration is most popular. Each year, the event is celebrated for eleven days in either August or September. People purchase new clothes each year to wear for the festivities. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the birthday of lord Ganesha. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, worshippers bring an idol of Lord Ganesha to their home and workplace.
The worshippers of Lord Ganesha pray for peace, prosperity, and happiness in their homes over eleven days. During Ganesh Aarti rituals, the god is served Modak and Ladoos during the morning and evening. Lord Ganesha is believed to be the lord of resolving problems and fear. Life's challenges and difficulties are said to disappear in his presence.
Anant Chaturdashi, which occurs at the end of the eleven days, is when worshippers immerse their idols of the deity in oceans and rivers to bring the celebrations to a close with the Visarjan ceremony. Lord Ganesha is believed to be returned to his parents, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, at the Visarjan ceremony. We all wait for this festival. Ganesh Chaturthi is the most loved festival in India.

We all believe that Lord Ganesha comes every year with prosperity and success.
Additionally, they celebrate this occasion by inviting Lord Ganesha into their houses in the hope that the Lord will end all of their unhappiness. Ganesh Chaturthi spreads happiness throughout the nation and brings people together via festivities.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated for a total of 11 days. The celebration officially begins when people place Lord Ganesha statues in their homes and temples on the Chaturthi. Ganesh Visarjan marks the end of this event on Anant Chaturdashi. God hears the prayers of the Lord Ganesha worshippers. They recite different mantras in praise of him while singing devotional songs to him. They offer aartis to the Lord to get his blessings.
We all Indians offer sweets to Lord Ganesha to come to our home. Ganesha Chaturthi especially calls for Modak. We Indians offer Lord Ganesha with Modak, which is the lord’s favourite dessert also. Modaks are sweet dumplings that people make with a filling of coconut and jaggery with some sugar. We either fry them or steam them. The people of Maharashtra especially make this sweet and delicious. Modak is seen around Ganesha Chaturthi mostly and is a massive hit amongst children.
The 11-day festival starts with people waking early and taking a bath. For this festival, they purchase brand-new clothing they wear the following day after a shower. They perform traditional singing and mantra-chanting rituals.
Early on, a few families celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. Later, it spread everywhere, which started the installation of idols and the tradition of immersion in water. This signalled the start of Ganesh Chaturthi, becoming a huge celebration.
In other words, freedom from suffering and evil is represented by idol immersion. People build magnificent statues of Lord Ganesha and construct pandals. Participants participate in a ceremonial procession when the Visarjan is set to begin at the festival's end. Hundreds of thousands of people gather, dancing to the rivers and seas.
Every year after Ganesh Chaturthi, people pray for Lord Ganesha to return. Every year, they await this festival. Ganesh Chaturthi ends when Lord Ganesha's statue is last dipped in a river or lake.
Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival the whole of India waits for, my family especially. My whole family goes to the temple to take the blessing of Lord Ganesha. In the evening, my brother and I usually go to lord Ganesha's temple for eleven days. At the end of the festival, or on the eleventh day, my whole family goes to the temple for the last blessing, and after, all go to the river to dip the statue of the lord Ganesha.
