While a multiplication table is a traditional tool to memorize multiplication facts, it has been proven by studies that just memorizing the facts is not enough for a deep understanding of the underlying concepts of multiplication. Instead, it's important to offer students hands-on learning experiences and utilize multiple approaches in teaching multiplication, so that they can apply the concepts in real-life situations. This approach helps children connect the numbers and develop a solid foundation of the fundamental rules of multiplication. Simply memorizing a multiplication table may provide short-term success, but a comprehensive understanding of the subject is essential for long-term success in mathematics.
The multiplication table 512 is nothing more than repeated addition of the number 512. 512 is an even number divisible by 2. Note the pattern in Table 512. The last 2 digits are multiples of Table 12, and the first 2 digits are multiples of Table 5. Table 512 helps students build a solid foundation of basic concepts in mathematics. When multiplying two numbers, the order does not matter (i.e. first or second number). If you multiply the first number by the second number, or the second number by the first number, the answer should always be the same. For example, 4 × 2 = 8 or 2 × 4 = 8.
Sometimes it can be difficult to memorise an entire table at once. So learn the multiplication table in chunks. Also, you can easily learn the multiplication table with some templates. A sample will help you remember the product of two numbers.
For example, the multiplication table for 2 can be memorised by simply doubling the number. This means adding numbers by the same number. For example, if you need to multiply 2 × 4; you can simply add 4 to 4 to get 8 to find the product.
Similarly, in the template for Table 5 ( 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and so on), the digits must end in 0 or 5.
For multiplication by 10, simply put a zero at the end of the number. For example, 7 × 10 = 70, 11 × 10 = 110.
Q1. What is the value of 512 times 15 added to 100?
Ans. From the table,
512 times 15 = 512 × 15 = 6144
512 times 15 added to 100 = 6144 +100
512 times 15 added to 100 = 6244
Q2. Ram plays 3 games in a day. How many games will he play in 512 days?
Ans: Number of games Ram plays in a day = 3
In 512 days Ram will play = 512× 3
In 512 days Ram will play = 1536 games
Q3. A woman bought a scarf worth Rs. 512. If she has bought 7 such scarves, then how much does she need to pay?
Ans. The price of a scarf = Rs. 512
Price of 6 scarves = Rs 512 × 7 = Rs. 3584
Q4. Aman completes 2 assignments in a day. In 512 days, how many assignments will he complete?
Ans. Assignments completed by Aman in a day = 2
Assignments Aman will complete in 512 days =
512 x 2 = 1024.
Q5. A teacher charges Rs. 512 per hour for special classes. How much does she charge for 9 hours of this special class?
Ans. Charge per hour = Rs. 512.
Charge for 9 hours = Rs. 512×9
Using the table of 512, 512×9= 4608
Using the tables, the value of 512 times 18 is 512 x 18 = 9216.
