Multiplication in basic arithmetic operations is defined as the repeated addition of the items which are of equal size.
We have multiplier and multiplicand when we multiply. Multiplier tells us how many groups. Multiplicand tells us about the number inside the group. We get the result called a product after the multiplication.
6 \times 4 means 6 groups of 4 or 6+6+6+6. So 6 is the Multiplier. 4 is the Multiplicand.
6 \times 4= 24 . 24 is the product of 6 \times 4
.
One is called an identity number. Any number multiplied by one the answer is the number itself.
If any number is multiplied by zero, the answer is zero.
1. Solve for x:360\times x=3240
Ans: X = 8
X=\frac{3240}{360}
X = 8.
2. Find the value of a, if 18a = 6480
Ans: Given: 18a = 6480
a=\frac{6480}{18}
a = 360
Hence, the value of a is 360
3. 360, 720, 1080, 1440 come in the table of?
Ans: 360
4. Which number does not come in the table of 360?
A. 350
B. 1080
C. 1440
D. 3600
E. 360
Ans: A = 350
5. 360\times 6=360\times 8 =
True
False
Ans: B
360 × 1 = 360 | 360 |
360 × 1 = 720 | 360 + 360 = 720 |
360 × 1 = 1080 | 360 + 360 + 360 = 1080 |
360 × 1 = 1440 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 1440 |
360 × 1 = 1800 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 1800 |
360 × 1 = 2160 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 2160 |
360 × 1 = 2520 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 2520 |
360 × 1 = 2880 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 2880 |
360 × 1 = 3240 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 3240 |
360 × 1 = 3600 | 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 + 360 = 3600 |
Multiplication is not just an arithmetic operator, but it is used to improve the student's thinking to solve the real world problems.
Multiplying 360 by any number will result in a product that is a multiple of 360. This is because the number 360 is a multiple of itself, so any multiplication by a whole number will result in a product that is also a multiple of 360.
Given below is the multiplication table of 360.
360 × 2 = 720 |
360 × 3 = 1080 |
360 × 4 = 1440 |
360 × 5 = 1800 |
360 × 6 = 2160 |
360 × 7 = 2520 |
360 × 8 = 2880 |
360 × 9 = 3240 |
360 × 10 = 3600 |
