The Greco-Roman mathematician Nichomachus (60 to 120 AD(Anno Domini)), who was also a follower of Neopythagoreanism, induced a multiplication table during his introduction to Arithmetic. However, the Greek multiplication table, which is the oldest surviving multiplication table, which was on a wax tablet dated to the 1st century AD, and it is currently housed in the British Museum.
In the 1820 book, “ The Philosophy of Arithmetic”, mathematician John Leslie published a multiplication table which was up to the numerical number 99. This has allowed numbers to be multiplied in pairs of digits at a time.
