For finding the vertex of an angle, we must clearly understand the meaning of two terms, angle and vertex. Later by drawing an angle we can calculate the number of vertices used in an angle and then add them. The total number of vertices derived will be the number of vertices in an angle.
Vertex: A vertex is a point on a polygon where two rays or line segments meet, and the sides or edges of the object come together. In other words, it is the meeting point of the lines used to form a particular diagram or figure. Vertices is the plural form used for a vertex.
Angle: When two straight lines or rays are drawn in a sheet with a single intersection point, an angle is created. And the vertex of the angle can be described as the point where two lines come together. Angle is originally derived from the Latin word angular, which means corner.
For the construction of a 30-degree angle,
Draw a line OP of any length.
Then, place the protractor on the line such that its midpoint touches point O.
Later, mark point Q on the top of the circular part of the protractor at 30 degrees.
Draw the line from O to Q.
Finally, mark the degree of the angle made where the two lines intersect.
There is only 1 vertex of an angle. According to the definition of the vertex, it is the meeting point of the line or line segment and we can see in the angle drawn that there is only one meet point. Generally, people confuse endpoints with vertex but these are two different terms. The endpoint is the point at the end of any line whereas the vertex is the meeting point of two lines.
There is only one vertex for an angle which is the meeting point of two arms of the angle.
