The international number system differs from the Indian number system. Both systems are very different, whether it is the way of writing the numbers or the way of saying those numbers. In the Indian number system, we display thousands, lakhs, and crores. In the International number system, it is thousands, millions and billions. One million is nothing but a thousand. Numerically written as 1,000,000.
When we say one million is one thousand thousand, or in simple terms, it is Ten Lacs.
One thousand has three zeros.
Thus, it has six zeros; if one million is one thousand thousand, it has six zeros.
One million can be expanded in the following manner:
The International number system method:
\begin{array}{l}
1\times{thousand}\times \text { thousand}\\
= 1\times 1000 \times \times 1000 \\
=1,000,000\: million
\end{array}
The Indian number system method:
\begin{array}{l}
1\times \text {ten lakhs }+0 \times \text {lakhs}+0 \times \text {ten thousand}+0 \times \text {thousand}+0\times \text { hundred }+0 \times \text {tens }+0 \times \text {ones } \\
= 1\times 1000000+0 \times 100000 +0 \times 10000 +0 \times 1000+0 \times 100+0 \times 10+0 \times 1 \\
=10,00,000\: lakhs
\end{array}
We see that one million equals ten lakhs in the Indian number system.
1000000 million = 1000000 lakhs
One million in the International number system equals Ten Lakhs in the Indian number system.
One million implies multiplying one thousand by one thousand.
1,000,000 has six zeros.
1,000,000 is an even number. Any number which is divisible by 2 is called an even number.
1,000,000 is a composite number. Any number which has more than 2 factors is called a composite number.
1,000,000 is also a natural number. The range of numbers from 1 to infinity is known as natural numbers.
Both are the same thing. One million is recognised by the International number system, whereas The Indian number system recognises ten lakhs.
Yes.
No, one million is an even number.
10 million will equal 1 crore in the Indian number system.
10 million is expanded as:
\begin{array}{l}
10\times{thousand}\times \text { thousand}\\
= 10\times 1000 \times \times 1000 \\
=10,000,000\: million
\end{array}
1 crore or 10 million is expanded as
\begin{array}{l}
1\times \text {crores}+0\times \text {ten lakhs }+0 \times \text {lakhs}+0 \times \text {ten thousand}+0 \times \text {thousand}+0\times \text { hundred }+0 \times \text {tens }+0 \times \text {ones } \\
= 1\times 10000000+0\times 1000000+0 \times 100000 +0 \times 10000 +0 \times 1000+0 \times 100+0 \times 10+0 \times one \\
=1,00,00,000\: crores
\end{array}
