A zygote has only one nucleus. A zygote is created when the sperm and ovum cells combine during fertilization, and it has a uni-nucleus. In the days after conception, the zygote quickly divides from a single cell. The 46 chromosomes required are all present in the zygote's single cell, which receives 23 from the sperm and 23 from the egg.
Essentially, a zygote is a fertilized cell. A zygote, the result of two cells fusing, is a single cell with a nucleus made up of chromosomes from both parents. A multicellular eukaryote appears to go through its first stage of development at the zygote stage.
The zygote is uninucleate, meaning it has only one nucleus. Male and female gametes combine to produce the zygote. A single diploid nucleus is created when the pronuclei of the sperm and egg fusion (2n). A haploid (n) number of chromosomes makes up sperm and eggs.
