JEE Main exam is a highly competitive entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in India. The exam is a gateway for aspiring students to get admission into prestigious engineering institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other government-funded technical institutes. To qualify for JEE Main, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria and secure the minimum qualifying marks set by the NTA. The cutoff marks for JEE Main exam may vary each year depending on factors like the number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, and category of the candidate. In this context, the exact number of marks required to pass the JEE Main exam is not fixed and may vary every year.
The minimum score needed to qualify for JEE Mains is known as the predicted passing percentage. The JEE Main passing scores are typically announced following the conclusion of each session. Additionally, the JEE Mains cutoff scores vary depending on the category. The cut-off is determined by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and it typically changes every year. In addition, there are two different JEE Main exam cut-offs: the qualifying cut-off and the admission cut-off. Candidates can take the JEE Advanced test if they receive the required score on the JEE Mains exam. The JEE Main exam's passing score is determined by a number of variables, including:
Number of applicants who took the qualifying exam
Exam level of difficulty
Seat Availability
Marking Scheme
Cut-off score and Counseling
The passing score for JEE Mains can change depending on the aforementioned criteria.
The JEE Mains syllabus and the official brochure will be made available at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The NTA JEE Main syllabus PDF and exam format should be familiar to students.
The students would be better able to create an effective study plan and focus on the key topics for the entrance exam with knowledge of the JEE Main syllabus.
The syllabus for the Physics, Math, and Chemistry classes in the 11th and 12th grades serves as the foundation for the JEE Mains exam pattern and content.
To better understand the exam's level of complexity, students are encouraged to practise the JEE Main mock test as often as they can level and JEE syllabus with weightage.
The structure of the JEE Main Exam is mentioned as:
The exam consists of just two papers: Paper 1 for programmes in B.E./B.Tech and Paper 2 for programmes in B.Arch and B.Planning.
The candidate can choose to take either one or both papers. Paper 1 will require a computer and an online mode starting in 2018. Up until 2018, users may choose between offline pen & paper mode and online computer mode.
The test was only ever given using the offline pen and paper mode before 2010.
According to the Ministry of Human Resource Development's instructions, CBSE administered Paper 1 in computer-based test (CBT) mode to the first lakh candidates who chose it in 2011, while the remaining students took the exam using the standard pen and paper method style.
The maximum number of test attempts that a candidate may use in any one year is three.
Starting in 2018, the top 2,24,000 JEE-Main scorers will be qualified to take the second and final level of testing: JEE-Advanced.
The Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET) would replace JEE for all government engineering institutes by 2013, according to plans made public by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2010.
The CSAB previously handled JEE-Main counselling; however, the authorities have revised the counselling procedure. The JAB (Joint Admission Board), which represents IITs, and the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board), which bargains on behalf of NITs and other CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutes), have lately teamed together to provide counselling (joint counselling) for the two IIT-JEE tests. The memo in question was signed on May 2, 2015. Together, these two form the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
According to the NTA JEE Main exam pattern, answers to numerical questions must be generally accurate to the point of four decimals. In contrast to multiple-choice questions, the candidates must consider and calculate their answers.
