An infinite number of lines can be drawn through a point because there is no fixed number of lines that can pass through a point.
A point is a dot in a plane or on a piece of paper that doesn't have any length, width or height. There are different types of points like collinear points and non-collinear points and coplanar points and non-coplanar points.
Coplanar points are those points that are located on the same plane, and non-coplanar points are those that are not present on the same plane. And the points present on the same line are referred to as collinear points, whereas points that are not present on the same line are referred to as non-collinear points.
A line is formed by a collection of points moving in same or opposition to one another along a straight line. It moves in a straight line endlessly in the opposite direction because it lacks width, depth (curvature), and termination, which together means it will not end. There are various types of lines like horizontal lines, vertical lines, parallel lines, perpendicular lines, and intersecting lines.
A horizontal line is described as a line that moves in a straight line from left to right or from right to left. A vertical line is defined as a line that is perpendicular to the X-axis.
Two lines are called parallel lines when they never meet each other and even the distance between these two lines remains the same everywhere. Two lines are defined as perpendicular lines when they make a right angle after intersecting. Intersecting lines are described as lines that meet or cross each other at any point.
Let 'O' be a point on paper. Then we can draw line segment OA, line segment OB, line segment OC, line segment OD, line segment OE…. and an infinite number of lines from a single point ‘O’.
Thus, an infinite number of lines can be drawn in different directions through a point.
