    Inorganic Chemistry

This deals with compounds which do not have carbon-hydrogen bonds in them. These are various metals and salts. This describes the properties of all elements by placing them in a periodic table. This deals with the basic principles of chemistry and how elements can be obtained and separated from unrequired matter.

    • General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements

This branch of chemistry is most used in real life. This deals with the extraction of elements of different types from their ores, and their refinement till it is made available for commercial use. All the processes are discussed in detail with their chemical reactions. This chapter has a weightage of 3 marks in exams.

    • The p-Block Elements

The p Block elements are present on the right side of the periodic table. The noble gases form part of this group. Their properties are discussed while moving from top to bottom and left to right. This chapter has the highest weightage of 8 marks in exams.

    • The d and f Block Elements

The d block elements are present in the centre and the f block is present below the d block. The chapter tells all the names of elements present in the table and the trends observed. This chapter has a weightage of 5 marks in exams.
